it never was about the job or the title, its always about the money and status that comes with it. only the jobs and career paths that have a potential to pay well are viewd as a flex, same as if you make it with OF. its the money status and lifestyle you portray. if you are a programmer sitting all day in your basement working on your own software and project all day long and put all your hearth in it, but at the end you only make enough sales to barly sustain your life, all your family member and neighbors will tell their children: go learn something and get an good job or you will end like this programmer. but somewhere else the same sort of guy putting same effort into his project will be lucky and create the next hyped whatever software that makes millions in sales and then starts driving Ferrari etc, and the same sort of family members and neighbors will tell their kids all day long: why are wasting time in school or dead-end-job, cant you not just start pogramming like our neighbor? it dosent matter where the money is coming from as long as its there.
