    You‘ve done these fantastically Matt, my whole family watched these. I cheered when you reached the end. I like the way you’ve recorded and edited this, it really works.
    More bodycam footage also works for sure, and I think the rising popularity of long form POV walks like the 4K trails all over TH-cam is definitely something to think about for someone like you who‘s handy with video and travels a lot.
    I‘m sure your subscribers will go up a lot in future, and I will be watching more of your content. If you do do long form POV I guess there‘s also ad revenue that you can bookend them with. Greetings from Carmarthenshire

      Such a lovely comment - really made my day to hear this! Thanks for sharing with your family and I appreciate the camera suggestions! I'm trying to improve my film making with each video I do so I'm completely open to new types of camera shots. I've tried the POV method with my most recent videos in Snowdonia. Trying to give my subscribers more info about the hike as I go along :) All the best to you and your family in Carmarthenshire 👍🏼

    Magnificent, Matt, just magnificent. Beautiful scenery, excellent camera work, lovely storytelling without words, and unlike California, not another human being in sight. But, for this American, at least, I could use a few bits of description: is that vast body of beautiful blue water bordering much of your hike the Irish Sea? Could you throw in some backstory about the National Trails? I never realized that Wales is such a beautiful place. Hopefully I'll get to visit (and hike/bike) there someday. Really inspiring. Thanks!

    • @mattwalkwild6784
      @mattwalkwild6784  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your kind words and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Just so you know, I created a video travel guide on this same hike (th-cam.com/video/eLA_v5j_Jy0/w-d-xo.html) hopefully that answers most of your questions and provides you with more information. I hear the nature is sublime in California and I'd love to get out there soon (even if the trails are busy😄). Yes the water along the Pembrokeshire Coast is mostly all the Irish Sea. It's divided into some smaller channels (St George's, Bristol) and some inlet bays. There are still get big waves coming in from the south west as that leads out to the Atlantic! National Trails monitor and maintain 16 long-distance paths in the UK. They are considered some of the best long-distance hiking trails the UK has to offer! Wales is stunning. Other places to look for are the Gower Peninsula, and the Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons which are inland mountainous areas. Hopefully that answers some of your questions :)

    How does it look with wild camp spots in first (south) part of PCT?
    Good pace, man. I am hitting this trail in June this year.

    • @mattwalkwild6784
      @mattwalkwild6784  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's certainly possible but not as easy. Majority of my wild camps were in the second week. There's still plenty of headlands and spots you can camp on but they're not as remote. I really struggled along the estuary when you go into Pembroke and Milford. There's basically nowhere to camp there and no campsites. Good thing about south section is there are some walk in campsites if you're worried about not finding wild camping pitches! Good luck with your hike bud, it's fantastic

    nice video, planning this hike coming summer and was wondering if you always stayed in campsites and if so any you recommend?

    • @mattwalkwild6784
      @mattwalkwild6784  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a fantastic hike to do in the summer, I'm sure you'll have a great time. I spent 6 days wild camping, 6 days in a campsite, and 1 day in a hostel. There are so many campsites along the coast, more than I could name. The way to find them is to just type "camping" into google maps and then search along the coast. There are campsites every few miles!

    Wonderful Matt! A lot of time with your own thoughts. My sister has a farm in Newgale that includes the land down to the beach and the coast path. How do you rate the Lone Peaks? Keep up the great content!

    • @mattwalkwild6784
      @mattwalkwild6784  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What a lovely area to live in. I’m sure I walked past it 😄! I think the Lone Peaks are the best hiking shoes I’ve ever owned. Personally, I don’t like hiking boots anymore - too uncomfortable and too many blisters. Lone Peaks are excellent. Very lightweight, comfortable, grippy, and no blisters :)

      @graffigdesign8977 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattwalkwild6784 You definitely would have :) Thanks so much for the 'heads up' about the Lone Peaks Matt. Do you find them true to size, fit wise? Obviously unable to get out and try and actual pair on in a shop, so left to risk it buying online. Take care.

    • @mattwalkwild6784
      @mattwalkwild6784  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@graffigdesign8977 The size fits as a normal trainer or running shoe would. The front of the shoe is much wider than normal which gives your toes space to spread apart. Looks strange at first but is surprisingly comfortable. I had that same issue. I thought I might have to order a pair from America but got lucky and found a store in Guilford that sold them a few months ago!

    • @graffigdesign8977
      @graffigdesign8977 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattwalkwild6784 Hey Matt - thanks for the info on the shoe - think I'll order a pair - seems to be the 5s now. Reading mixed comments about folks ordering one size down from their usual trainer fitting. Not too sure what to make of that. Have a good week Matt and thanks again for the info

    • @mattwalkwild6784
      @mattwalkwild6784  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@graffigdesign8977 Hm I'm not too sure about that. I ordered my regular trainer size and it fit okay. I think it depends a lot on how your feet are shaped and how much space you like around your toes. Good luck with your future hikes in any case!
