Thanks! So, I use a program called hUGETracker, (nickfa.ro/index.php?title=HUGETracker) It's made for Game Boy, and it can export to a .GB file so you can play it on a real cart. It's a tracker, so it's hard to visualize, so I first transcribe the song on Online Sequencer (onlinesequencer.net/), keeping in mind the rules for Game Boy music (only 3 channels so 3 note polyphony, wave channel being weird and not having decay, etc.) and then write each note from the sequencer to the tracker and adding any effects I need. There are definitely more skilled individuals who use hUGETracker and I'm still learning, but I appreciate the positive comment!
