    Keep in mind that different bins will have different voltage curves. My 4090 Strix has a really strange bin. At 900mv it can only manage 2500-ish clock speed, any higher it would crash, but the curve shoots up at 950mv and can clock to 2750. It also does 2950 at 1.05v stock voltage which is total madness. It appears that there are some bins that can do really high frequency at the higher voltages but sucks at undervolting. So the more reliable way to undervolt is to do +170 mhz on the whole curve (no matter what frequency you land at), and then pick a voltage you want to stick to and flaten the curve from there. I picked 950mv @2750 mhz, doing basically stock performance while drawing at most 380w in 3DMark Firestrike.

    This is a great guide. I think you can take your undervolt videos on to the next level by testing the GPU performance in Fire Strike or something and then testing the undervolt, delivering both stock and UV power figures in watts for the average Joe to understand as well as the graphics scores to compare. Taking things even further would be how Bryan did it with FPS charts. But I definitely do think upping the info on these guides will give you a good audience because you test a good variety of hardware to begin with in a non complicated way.

    Be careful, if you start seeing texture artifacts (small rectangles of corrupt textures) which becomes pretty obvious when you see it in multiple different games, then these settings were triggering it for me. I reverted to stock and no longer any artifacts. I suspect Nvidia may have quietly adjusted the default curve to improve stability. Nearly RMA'd mine before I figured it out. While undervolted based on this video, I did not have any stability issues (no BSOD, no crashes)... just artifacts. Wasn't temperature related, would happen even after a cold boot (not sleep) after it was off all night.

    Really smooth and legit guide! Before undervolt (Heaven benchmark): 391.8 fps, 9869, minfps: 72, maxfps: 779.8. And then WITH undervolt (Heaven benchmark): 374 fps, 9422, minfps: 61.2, maxfps: 742.7. So overall, that is a substantial difference, so now I'm thinking how to boost that score to have nearly the same performance as before (Asus TUF OC 4090). UPDATE: I feel like Heaven is an archaic benchmark anyhow, so I instead ran VRMark. Stock 4090 settings gave a score of 17946. Undervolted settings (second half of your video) gave a score of 17,901. Performance is almost identical to stock, so I'm pleased with that, honestly. I suspect that Heaven benchmark is so old that it gives inconsistent results (at times).

    This is how I UVed my 4090, long long ago when it first came out, despite the idiots on youtube claiming not to undervolt their cards. And have been happy ever since. I was more aggressive though, I picked 865mV. The only reason I didn't go lower is, the card doesn't allow it. The thing idles at 0,875mV and slightly droops to 865

    I know I've already done this before, but when I had my 3080 Ti before upgraded to a 4090. I had two different UV profiles because the one is for games that use Ray tracing. I did research and found out that Nvidia GPU's RTX cores are very sensitive to the gpu voltage. If you set it a bit too low voltage and games would just simply crashed. Just be aware about that. So I set it slightly higher volt but still less than what factory voltage was used to be set and i tested a couple RTX games and it ran solid without crashing. But for raster games that don't have RTX. So I have a quite lower voltage but can clock at higher and it ran for hours no problem. Right now is I haven't UV my 4090 yet, but I had to watch your video because i can't remember what shortcut keys to make clocks go flat line. So thank you for showing me for that.

Being able to put yourself in your audience shoes is very good skill, although im not sure if specializing your channel in pc building tips is best approach - maybe its fine at the beginning to get some community but imo think about diversifying it at some point (games, Ai, anime/other shows, commentary, maybe organize some fun tech tournaments with your subs, idk). Unless its just a hobby of course; I say all that because there are at least 2 big channels about pc's - linus tech tips and gamers nexus and it will be tough to become the third one. Thanks for the video. One issue however that I discovered the hard way. Going higher on ram speed is not necessarily better for FPS. Using your suggestions, I ran benchmarks in Timespy and the higher I went on memory, the LOWER my graphics score was each time. +1300mhz for example ended up offering worse performance than +1000mhz. This is apparently due to error correction that takes place on modern GPUs when ram is pushed too high.
    Many times, modern cards will keep running (not crash) at unstable memory speeds, but the performance suffers. Can you do a video on this topic? I think many people are not informed about it and would appreciate being shown how to find the “sweet spot” for memory OC.

    • @andremessado7659
      @andremessado7659 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      1. ECC is not enabled by default on Nvidia GPU's, you have to enable it through Nvidia control panel.
      2. Every card is different. I can Max my GPU's memory (4090 AERO) to 2000+ and still not see degradation in performance but its not stable. I run +1700 stable and get the best gains at this OC.
      3. It is general practice and mentioned in many overclocking vid's from years and years ago that you OC until you either a.) GPU starts becoming unstable or b.) you start loosing performance. Maybe he assumed most people would understand to look for this already and is why he didn't mention it.

      @@rab3072hi, cyberpunk really pushes GPU to limits, your problem is that you dont have what is called "stable undervolt".. when you undervolt lets say to 0.975 and try it in some game, it may seem that it lowered temp and watts! great! but when gpu is pushed to limits (cyberpunk with RT), gpu will crash BECAUSE it doesnt have enough voltage (because undervolt) - SOLUTION is to raise voltage OR lower frequency. Try both, see what works best for you!
      Edit: i just looked video, its very specific for HIS card, every card is little different, so yes, as i said, try 1v 2750mhz for example, it should be ok.. or. 0.975 and 2700mhz may work better, try and let me know
