Thank you so much for this. 80 year old single woman farmer, all my greenhouses have been DIY wood ones, using bat tape. Trying my first hoop house now, wanted to make sure I put the channels on right. Really excellent video.

@@ambermorgan I just have that kind of personality 😂. I was born saying “no thank you, I can do it myself”. TBH, I am one of “those” perfectionists whom no one likes. At some young age I decided I was never going to be happy with other people’s work and decided not to encumber people unfairly 😎 with my unwanted and unasked for, criticisms.
When you see statements like SINGLE and 80, that should be a red flag 🚩 right there.

Would have been so much better if you had pre-drilled the wire channel on the ground as it removes one more variable when assembling a structure like this. Wire channel is the only way to go for greenhouse plastic. Always good to have some safety eye wear when drilling metal. You have some very good tips.

when the bends are in the metal you cant predrill.. You would never be able to figure out exactly where the bolts go.. Just saying .. Go watch again and see if you can at the top bending the metal that hard ..

Just for clarity..... Why did you install wood on the hip, then attach the channel? can you not just install the channel directly to the frame? What am i not understanding?? i have seen it installed both ways.

Never heard of wire channel before today. How was the board mounted to the metal? I am "drill bit challenged."

Sometimes you can use a u clamp sort of thing. It's pretty much got a pocket for the metal pipe like the shape of a U. And then it has pieces of metal that go out on the left and right side that can be drilled into the wood to attach the brace, then drilled through the U part of the brace into the metal to hold it there. You can also just use a drill bit to make a pilot hole in the board and into the pipe, and drive a screw or bolt into it.

You should measure and predrill the channel before you try to install.
