I was examined for my Confirmation Catechism by then Fr Williamson. I was so nervous. But I knew my stuff. I would start the first line of a prayer or Catechism answer and he'd stop me. He would ask the next question and again it was the same thing. I don't think I answered a full question. I think he knew it had it all down by heart. I told him that I wanted St Therese as my Confirmation Saint. He encouraged me to do the French spelling and not the Americanised version. 😂 I'm still grateful for this. He also saved me from a terrible situation a few decades later for which I am indebted to him. Please pray for his continued holiness!

Wow, so this is the dread boogie man whom we’ve been lead to believe is public enemy number one? What a charming and delightful man who holds his shepherd’s crook with two firm grips. It’s so refreshing to hear frank discussion and simple but honest descriptions of things often deemed almost unspeakably “controversial.” Bring it all out in the light.

I experienced such a profound peace listening to you two speak, despite the crisis surrounding us and the inevitable chastisement in front of us. Truth is beauty and the good Bishop speaks it with such clarity. I love the fact that it's not sugar coated. In some ways, it will be the bitterest pill we'll have to swallow, as it has been prophesized that the living will envy the dead after the desolation. Yet, despite that, the promise of the triumph of Our Sorrowful Mother will be so grand and beautiful that I look forward to seeing it, God willing.

Schizophrenic is the right word. I'm 44 years old, came from a catholic family and went to catholic school. There is a picture on my wall of my first communion, at age 6, it was in the hand. I only learned about the Tridentine mass, about communion on the tongue etc a few years ago. I live in Belgium, hotbed of modernism back then and now. Same for my friend, he went to a so-called conservative catholic school, did classic education (Greek/Latin) and had I not told him, he never knew there existed a thing like a Latin mass. (that school also flies pride flags nowadays, they all do) There's a Tridentine mass where I live once a month, the other 3 sundays I go to a local church as is expected for sunday duty. There it's the sickly sweet good-news-show, ecumenism is praised and hymns by that maniac Luther have been sung. The young priest, although I like him as a person, told me that he spend his holiday at Medjugorje, which made me think about the investigation by dr. E. Michael Jones. When I mentioned the Latin mass I noticed not much enthusiasm. It's a strange world, it seems to me worse than the Arian crisis.

Missing in the description : delightful to listen to and lovable!" A true man of God a Catholic Shepherd! No wonder he has so many against him for one reason or another! I've noticed, that even very conservative Catholic commentators, when speaking to Bishops, never say "My Lord" or in America, "Your Excellency", they just say "Bishop". I find that quite rude and wonder if it is a result of America's obsession with so called egalitarianism. Those of us with a British heritage understand that the universe is hierarchical in its very nature. Growing up in a monarchy is a partial antidote to secular humanist sameness, which confuses equality of worth in the eyes of God with sameness of honour and authority.
I would never address a Bishop as "Bishop", I would say, here in Australia, "My Lord", or when talking to my Archbishop, "Your Grace".
The honour we show to our Church's leaders is simply a reflection of the honour we show to God.

Also, you may want to do yourself and those you minister to a huge favor and get yourself conditionally ordained. You have nothing to lose and potentially everything to gain. And if you have already being conditionally ordained by him in your previous meeting, then it would be an act of justice for you to make that known publicly.

Wow. Listened all the way through and thought such a brilliant mind and excellent interview. But then I read a brief wikipedia entry about the Bishop. So wondering, given the excommunication(s), conviction, and expulsion from the SSPX, how does a pew sitter, realizing the crisis the Church, how does one discern without context / explanation if it is safe or dangerous to our soul to listen to a brilliant Bishop who may have trouble with obedience? We are cautioned on how the Saints were not disobedient, even when their superiors were wrong, like St Pio of Pietrelcina suffered at first. Thank you for any help in understanding context.

With all due respect Father Nix, I believe what Bishop Williamson meant is this modern heretical culture comes from the Renaissance. Well before 500 years ago.

@@jessec2138 According to Wikipedia the Renaissance covers the 15th and 16th centuries. The 16th century began with the year 1501 and ended the year 1600. In addition to the standard periodization proponents of a long Renaissance put its end in the 17th century

Well, the middle ages were considered the dark ages among secularists and it died off during the renaissance, which means rebirth. The period literally takes its name because it took us out of the dark ages.
Wikipedia article does say what you’re saying, but it says it went on during that period not started during that period. I said it started during the 1300s.
If you read the rest of the article on Wikipedia, it says “Italian Proto-Renaissance from around 1250 or 1300-overlap considerably with the Late Middle Ages, conventionally dated to c. 1350-1500.”

Back in 1988 Archbishop Lefbvre was cautioned against choosing to consecrate Williamson Bishop. Williamson was regarded as being highly self willed, cruel particularly with his anti Jewish ethnicity jokes. He has made a joke about a particular seninarian with a Jewish family name. As a convert Williamson had in his zeal mistaken hate which burns like love for faithfulness. It all has gone as I expected with Williamson going off on his own. He should have discreetly retired better still he should have declined being made bishop.

You obviously don know the bishop very well. He does have a cutting sense of humor which you mistake for cruelty. He actually has a number of Jewish friends whom he tries to convert, as he should! “Burning hate” is faithfulness? In which universe? Do you question his intelligence?
As for going off on his own, do know that Bp. W. went nowhere but where the Society sent him. He obeyed his superiors’ last order which was to take himself out the door.
If you do not like his mannerism or personality type, of course that is your personal preference which has nothing to do with his Catholic orthodoxy. It’s too bad you did not bestow your sagacity upon Archbishop Lefebvre before the consecrations in 1988.

Bishop Williamson is an excommunicated bishop. He has been expelled by the SSPX and Rome. He's outside the authentic and genuine Roman Catholic Church. It is inherently disobedient, and therefore sinful, to follow an excommunicated bishop. Return to the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Return to Romee. Be faithful to Jesus through His Vicar on earth, the pope.

Hello, Katie! 👋 EMJ sounds optimistic about him. I don’t know anymore. In 2016 I was extremely happy because we had Brexit and then Trump! That year, I had started to pray the Rosary again for the first time in over 20 years (since I was a little girl), and I thought the Blessed Mother was obtaining Brexit and the Trump presidency for me. 😄 Now I am much more cynical. 😉 I treat it all as theatre. But I’ll be pleased if it’s Trump again in November. I try not to be cynical. 😁
