Nice! Been flipping and using balisongs for 35 years. Figured out the ice pick as a kid long before TH-cam, and I do it differently. Pinch where thumb meets hand, let handle swing, move thumb, close hand. Faster and easier IMO. But I'm going to learn your way just to have options. Just bought a Krake Raken, time to check out more of your tutorials.
I love how well you explain everything!!! I'm about to get a balisong and wanted to know a few tricks before I even had the knife. I looked at a few videos and you're the first one I found that didn't go straight from basic opening to flipping around your hand multiple times.
Got my first trainer today and one thing that I noticed is all the transitions involve having to reverse/twist the handle to return to the closed position. Focusing on achieving this really made me understand the movement and flow of the trainer, and managed to learn 3 of the openings today (obviously after doing multiple failed reps for hours haha)
I appreciate the more step by step method that you are showing. I have tried to watch some other tutorials on the basic tricks and even with them slowed down they are explaining on the twist or turns aspect of the tricks.
#squid I've been flipping for around a month, so I've definitely seen these and repped them to a fairly comfortable point, but I cannot overstate how much I'd appreciate pov, slowmo, LEFTY demonstrations, exponentially so as the difficulty scales. Please keep these up, and thank you for saving me the mental reversing! EDIT: By the way, the audio on this vid was a little muffled. It's perfectly understandable, but just thought I'd let you know.
#squid please, continue more of these trick learning videos. You’re the leading balisong manufacturer, so the thousands that buy your product would love to learn the tricks. :)
Yup, new to flipping (very) and new to the channel... watching these very much necessary tutorials, thanks man, these are awesome. I haven't yet received my first S.I. order but until I do, I'll keep watching from Maryland USA🤙
I love this video. I can do lots of intermediate tricks. And I never considered the quick draw. Lol. I love learning something simple I just never considered before! Thanks!!
i got a balisong because they're quick to open, and the well built ones are alot more sturdy than flip knives. bonus for using it kinda like a fidget toy. i take mine whenever i'm hiking or camping and it's been extremely useful from prepping meals, to eating, to general utility. used it for 3 years and it hasn't failed yet, unlike similarly priced flip knives
i struggled with the basic and icepick opening (just opening the blade, closing it is easier for me now), but every other trick i was able to get somewhat correct. Thank you so much for making this guide for me!
Finally got the basic opening working consistently. Left handed not too good yet, but the right hand I can open and close consistently. Now to just get the ice pick technique to work.
#squid Love how in depth yet straight forward and simple the tutorial is. I already know it’s gonna help people a lot when y’all get into the more advanced tricks
these vids will not only help me with my tricks once i get my trainer (i already learned the thumbrollover using an old real one, fun trick) but the angle is nice for animation reference!
#squid Cool to see Jelly, Andre and Seiji working in the industry alongside Lucas, even if they don't make the knives themselves. that's what i love about squid, they merge the community with the industry which is always good to see
#squid Dang dude, I love the way you ended that combo at the end of the video, how you went from an aerial, into a fan, and then reversed the fan and into a shortstop. Looked pretty sick. 😎 Keep up the sick flips!
Finally some tutorials! The only guy I knew that flipped was back in 1989, and he didn't teach me much. I made my first "trainer" out of an aluminum window screen frame and hand carved wood "blade," using bailing wire for pivots. I have an old all steel trainer, but a #SQUID dy would play nicer with hardwood floors and at work while my Haas runs. LOL
#Squid I’ve been practicing the QuickDraw for almost an hour and I’ve perfected it in such a short time! Thank you for this tutorial, this is something I really needed.
damn thanks for this content, helped me out so much. I bought one and didn't know how to use one and i watched your videos and learned most tricks in minutes. Thanks!
#squid definitely need a plastic trainer for flipping in public places or in travel And good tutorial, I wish I could find tutorials like this when I was starting to flip
Bro I don’t care about any other TH-camr anymore I’m only watching this dude because I’m asking for a butterfly knife trainer for Christmas and trying to learn the basics keep doing what your doing I’m subscribed
...I am almost 50, probably have kids older than most of everyone at Squid Industries...lol and just started following...I am so new to flipping that I didn't even know that the official name for a butterfly knife is balisong...I have placed my first order for some practice balisongs, haven't received them yet but have plenty of videos to watch! Initially, blindly searching TH-cam I found Squid Industries. You guys are awesome and I search no more...🤙
just got me a squiddy, i used to have a balisong knife a year or 2 ago, barely used it though and didn't know how to really use it, I'm excited for my squiddy to come in
I'm new to this. Mine has a latch it tends to get in the way is it better to have no latch. Also it keeps smacking my knuckles is that normal or am I catching it wrong
I know you probably won't see this but my butterfly knife only opens one way and the blade doesn't go through the handle got any tricks for that type if knife?
We love #squid

I'm only beginning now, but these are very useful in depth tutorials, and they are a great way to start flipping.
Thank you! Great tutorial. Picked up a bali for the first time and learned all 5 tricks in 1-2 hours. Fun :)
Your guy's videos are awesome!!!! I just started flipping and on day 2 I got the index roll over down pat!! All thanks to your videos 😍
I bought mine yesterd, but instead of being a normal training one, mine is a balisong that is also a hair comb (just to be more practical )
Me too so i can bring the balisong into school😂
