Absolutely a masterpiece! George Pal and H.G. Wells would be deeply honored! The Martian war machines are perfectly ominous, just as in the classic film!!!! I get the chills just watching this video! You, Sir, have built a legend!!!
@@DHDSCALEMODELS How long did it take to create this museum piece? I would love a unique display like this in my home!!! It is breathtaking and beautifully horrifying at the same time! So realistic!!! I'm a subscriber!!!
Thanks again! In total it took about 3 months but thats only because i usually just have weekends to do my builds. Thanks for subscribing I really appreciate it.👍
Ha ha! That's awesome. My favorite movie ever. Saw it as a little kid in the 70's and it scared the heck out of me. Every time I see it....I re-live the heebie-jeebies!
That shine was how the Martian War Machine kit came. It comes with the copper chrome finish on them. Same with the large War Machine completed model. It's beautiful!
Fantastic detail. The Martian war machines look gorgeous and the rest of the diorama is well done. I think one more Martian war machine will be even greater since they came in threes in the 1953 classic. But it is not a big deal. The muzzle blast for the tanks and the back blast for the rocket launcher; the composition of the light used on them is top notch. Please, do another diorama of The War Of The Worlds! Have a great day !
Gary Reid...Thankyou very much! Yes ideally I would have liked 3 war machines but only two come with the kit i used,I do hope to do another war of the worlds diorama some time, thinking about one with the thunder child taking on a war machine at sea.
G’day, I have throughly enjoyed this particular build and inspired me! So much so that I just ordered this great kit from BNA Model World. They also have the 1/48 scale War Machine too. Thank you for sharing this journey and I look forward to continuing to see your great builds. Kindest Regards and Respect, Ray from Sydney Australia
This is absolutely masterful! Currently trying my hand at a diorama of War Machines myself, but I'm not holding my breath for this level of awesomeness! When it comes to your display, I have to quote Dr. Forrester. "This is amazing!!"
This is a fantastic piece of work. It captures the spirit and the essence of the movie, while telling its own story. I really enjoyed watching this come to life. Thank you.
I like what you did with this diorama! In particular the 1/144 truck mounting the rocket tubes. I was wondering how exactly you made those rocket tubes? Styrene tubing perhaps?
Thankyou! yes your spot on they are square section styrene tubes. If you want to see the build process for the diorama take a look at my build videos, the rocket truck build is part 4👍 My "war of the worlds" diorama based on the 1953 movie, using various kits and my own lighting. you have a eye for detail, very impressive, would like to see you do the 39 inch seaview submarine, with sounds and lights, maybe a step by step videos.
What can I say, just amazing, you brought the diorama to life, great job, will there be follow up photos of Martian machine placement and switch ,again great work
Thankyou stanley i really appreciate that compliment👍 I didnt take any further build pictures but the war machines have a support tube coming out of the rear (this also carries the power supply wires) which is then bent at 90° and goes down between the trees,i then disguised the tube by cutting and splitting a couple of trunks from my left over trees and wrapping them around the tube so it just looks like another tree trunk when viewed from the battlefield, wiring is simply joined to a connector block that runs from the battery box and switch, the base is just a 12" x 12" picture frame with the inner backing board piece glued to the front side to form the base board.
@@ClackstarsDashCam ha ha well what i can tell you is it only arrived yesterday and its something a little different to my last few builds (no diorama! 😳) as its too big for one!😁
QUITE AWESOME!!! You know what really would have put it all the way OVER the top tho'? Green laser "legs" with a sonic atomizer to make the beams visible...
Well done!… In the 1953 movie the Martian machines moved in groups of three. So why did the Polaris kit only include two Martian machines? One of life’s many mysteries. Still a very good diorama.
No there are no fibre optics used, the heat rays are lit from the base by 3 mm leds which shine the light upwards through the clear plastic. All the other lighting is also directly lit by leds. If you want more detail i have the build videos here⬇️ th-cam.com/play/PL9inOV2EZX8Rw7PRML4CeMCqyugiDbR18.html
ummmmm at exatctly 3:12 there is an image of a mans face in the right most explosion. if you look at the brightest part of the explosion, the mans face in in 3/4 view looking up and to the right. wow!
@bob bobbinson Well done on being the only person to have spotted it! Its purely a trick of the light at a certain angle but once you have seen it you can't help but notice it every time,it was one of those things that when I first noticed it i thought that's very cool but rather spooky!💥😱

Love the lighting effects at 00:13 - however, they are not seen for the remainder of the video - are they physical or added onto the video?
Thankyou, yes it was a digital effect to add some more atmosphere to the start of the video.
Did you use fiber optic for the lights them self?
No there are no fibre optics used, the heat rays are lit from the base by 3 mm leds which shine the light upwards through the clear plastic.

Do you sell them?
Sorry but no as its a long time to build and the war machines are not very easy to find at a reasonable price.
