If it wasn't for The Lighthouse, The Two Popes would have been the best film I had seen in 2019. There are still SO MANY great films that I have yet to see from this year (including Little Women, Pain and Glory, etc.), but The Two Popes REALLY surprised me. It's a genuinely beautiful movie and easily one of the best films I've ever had the pleasure of seeing.

They don't really do much in the movie. having that dialogues alone from the two popes is good enough already. every words they say and every revelation gives a total big impact. anthony hopkins and jonathan pryce in this movie are amazing. BRAVO.

I was looking forward to attending the directors roundtable because I was wondering if they would invite Fernando to attend, thankfully they invited him because he is a great director, proud of Brazilian cinema, which represents very much the quality of Brazilian cinema in the world and the movie The Two Papas is a wonderful movie. By the way, everyone at this table is great directors who made great movies this year.
Quite interesting the passion for editing. Meirelles rules. I'd recommend "Cidade de Deus" (a lot more violent than Two Popes) for anyone who loves Cinema.
