Baking is a science, I think you should definitely follow the instructions. Creaming butter and sugar first before adding other ingredients is a must. It's still edible, i would just have it with my morning coffee.😅
Maybe add more yeast to the cake so it can raise a bit more. I feel like self-raising flour never does the job as well as yeast. Flat or not, if it tastes good, it's good enough to eat.
I must admit it did taste blooming good! Just couldn’t hey over how flat it turned out 😂😂 will defo try some yeast next time - I agree I think self raising flour is often not enough
