Nate is really a humble dude and it's beyond cool how he looks at Sid like a big brother.

I was at that game in Saskatoon when the lady messed up Oh Canada. So cool how the crowd saved her!
I knew Nate would be our guy after I watched him torch Seth Jones and the Portland Winterhawks for 3 goals and 2 assists. Instantly became his biggest fan.

Really Nice interview from an AVS fan in Texas. I’ll be checking out future Podcast. You did an excellent job showing me what Nate is all about. He’s an incredible player but clearly as an out-of-market fan I don’t get the local news so seeing productions like this is an excellent way to gain insight on the player and the man - great job High Button Sports!

Up to 15,000...probably cuz they won the cup

  • @jasonsmith5226

Should be his MVP season..after Taylor Hall stole it a few yrs ago...I get Drasaitti last year..despite the fact he doesn't give 2 f#&$s about both ends..but his numbers were insane. But I know Nate cares about winning the Cup..not the MVP. I think he might get multiple..in the next few yrs..especially if he resigns in Colorado, in 3yrs I think it is. I don't know if they do it this year...a lot depends on goaltending..maturation of Byrum, etc.
Youd think we are due for a reasonable season injurywise...with the insane bad luck of last year..pre bubble AND in the bubble. Worst case, I expect the Avs will end their 19 year Western Conference Final drought..wouldve done it last year, without completely ridiculous,& unfair injury luck. Still damn near did it..with those guys out.
But I had Tampa over Colorado last year,& fully believe that's what wouldve happened, if not for those excessive injuries. I haven't studdied the player movement out East..but I expect the NYR will turn into "Avs East"-& we will meet them in multiple SCF in the next few seasons. Rangers might be 1 or 2 years away though..but I'm picking Colorado over Toronto in this years Cup Finals. But ya gotta end that conference final drought..before lifting the Cup.
Vegas,& Vancouver will be tough..I think Dallas starts to slip,& St Louis is probably still right there. Edmonton COULD be as good as anybody..if they ever start caring about both ends somewhat. LA Kings look to have a bright future..but probably not for 2 yrs or so. Mac deserved so much better last playoffs,& it's time the hockey gods give this team some luck..2 of the last 3 playoffs-Avs had to start a 3rd string goalie in multiple playoff games,& still came extremely close to getting to WCF, the last 2 years. It's time Mac gets to at least a Conference Final (not his fault he hasn't),& he should hoist a Cup, before his contract is up. Avs need to give Byrum a chance,& not coddle him..he needs to be on this roster. This kid will be special,& with Makar..Avs should soon have the best 1-2 punch of young dmen in the NHL-besides the ridiculous other talent. Toews,& Saad are definitely upgrades also-go Avs!

He deserved the hart ast year! The mvp award in the NHL is most valuable to you're team, MacKinnon had 93 points in 69 games the next leading scorer on the team was a rookie defenseman with 50! Yea Leon got 110 points but McDavid also had 97 points and RNH had like 61. It's not all about points thaays what the art Ross is for!

      Not a terrible predication

    • @jasonsmith5226
      @jasonsmith5226 ปีที่แล้ว

Ya,I didn't do too bad there huh? Except maybe the "Toronto in the Finals" part. But little did I know Avs would play the disaster that is Patrick Nemeth last playoffs-over Byrum. But as tough as last playoff was,I really think they learned a lot from Vegas,& that series. Avs have developed a resilence,& toughness this playoffs-they just didn't have in the past. They've had the talent, desire,& will to win...but maybe not the mental toughness. I think some of it started that bubble playoffs with Dallas-almost overcoming all those injuries, but last year was a painful, but important lesson.
After that historic collapse this year-in game 5 vs St Louis,I worried they might not have the resilence to recover...they proved they did the next game. Yes,the Helm winner was great in game 6,but somewhat fortunate. But to basically dominate that game for 2+ periods, but still be down in the 3rd,& come back...that proved a lot to me. Hell, they've clinched 3 series on the road, where they trailed in the 3rd of all 3 clinching games...that takes mental toughness,& resilence. Or even last night...down 30 seconds in...down in the 3rd again,on that garbage ice. I won't ever count out the 2 time Champs, but they seem to be running on fumes-gonna be very difficult for them. And our talented-but sometimes mentally fragile Avs-have grown into resilient, mentally tough warriors. Partly cuz of the guys we added-Sakic had a terrible deadline last year with Nemeth-who was an awful fit,& washed up Soderburg. But he gets A+ this off-season,& deadline
Helm,Lehkonen,Manson,Sturm,Cogliano...even Jack Johnson has been surprisingly decent. Those guys all helped with physical toughness,&/or mental toughness. But also the guys who've been here have come a long ways themselves mentally. It's why young teams don't win Cups almost ever. Rangers tried to buck that trend,& did great-but you gotta go through it... usually multiple times.
But thanks for sending me that,& reminding me of that...had a few bad predictions-"Vancouver would be scary." Although even they were pretty good by the end of this year. But pretty good call on Byram. If those concussions stay gone-he is turning into a star before our eyes...maybe superstar eventually. Take care...GO AVS! Bring your oxygen tanks Bolts-gonna need them! But hopefully just once more!

All they need is injury luck,& experience..goaltending consistency,& health also. And no team is perfect..but seriously..reasonable health,& experience,is all thats keeping them from a Cup.
BTW-dont compare LA to Denver..theres a reason half of LA-or Cali in general-moves here.Cuz LA is an overcrowded, over rated shit hole..Denver is a medium sized city..but paradise compared to LA..though we are kinda turning into Cali..& that's not a good thing for the most part. At least that clown Newsome isn't our governor..I dont always agree with ous-Jarod Polis, but he's way better than that hypocritical tyrant-who puts in extra strict COVID restrictions, (I agree with most the rules..but Cali/NY have gone too far)then get's caught flagrantly violating his own rules. But Denver is like LA..maybe 20yrs ago, or something..

As Nate said at the parade-"GUESS I FINALLY FING WON SOMETHING!" Bit exagerated,& harsh on himself in typical Nate fashion. Matheuws,Marner-even Mcdavid,& Drasaitil til this yr,would've killed to lose 3 straight 2nd rounds.
Unfair when people lump all these 2nd rounds in together. Last yr they probably did underachieve a bit. But Kadri was suspended,Vegas was more experienced,& did tie them for Prez trophy. In 2019-were inexperienced 8 seed that upset 1 seed Calgary, then came within a disputed disallowed tying goal of upsetting SJ.
That was a different team-basically 1 line,& not remotely the unbelievable blue line of today-MASSIVE overachievment. 2020 bubble-lost Landy,& 5 other regulars to injury-basicalky the entire #1 PK-NOT COUNTING THEIR TOP 2 GOALIES! With Michael Hutchinson in net-arguably a quasi miracle to get to OT of game 7 vs Dallas. But nobody cares bout any of that-just lump em all together. A little nuance should be applied.
But dont have to worry bout any of that anymore. 1 Cup wipes that basically all away. And after last yrs presser vs Vegas, that was so awesome when he said with a wry grin on his face at this yrs parade.
