The solo in Return to Serenity is absolutely gorgeous! It's one of if not the greatest guitar solo ever. Brotherhood of the Snake amazes me. To do a solo that has any kind of identity over a blast beat is hard enough.
Practice was definitely the best. True American Hate is a close second. Alex's skills are so much more then solos, all the fills he does is really what stands out in his playing style.
Man, I was at that gig on the first video, Koko, the old Camden Palace. It's one of the best gigs I've ever been to, so thick was the atmosphere. Incredible.
Over the Wall Holy fuck. First heard it when i was 12 years old on the Metal for Melbourne show on at 10pm-12am on 3RRR with Alan Thomas (RIP) way back in 1987 & still remember the solo from it note for note in my head at 47 years old. Such is the epicness of that solo. The solo of Practice What you Preach is fucking mind blowing too \m/
@@syahmiamir6566 Maybe Testament is underrated but Alex is not underrated, most of the Metalheads knows who Alex is and they all know about his talent.
@@arvindshastry1178 It's not about who is better, faster, or more technical. It's about preference. Music is subjective. Music is not a competition. I love Alex Skolnick, but I like more Kirk Hammett solos!
You missed Eerie Inhabitants. His best work start to finish. That's how good the man is. You can clip solos and still miss one of his monster bombs. I will concede that the Practice solo is absolute insanity that represents peak guitar.
Skolnick is obviously a Star here, but they’re all amazing. The whole band shreds. There are so many shitty bands that got more attention than Testament and to me, that’s a sin. That’s blasphemy. These guys are as good at thrash metal or better than the big 4. If you listen to what Testament has released over the last 3 decades and put against any of the big four, they suck compared to Testament. This band might be the greatest thrash metal band of all time.
Open your ears, these solos have a solid blues base and elements of Randy Rhoads school. Electric Crown is a perfect example of effective, yet easy to understand phrasing with a clear logical structure. Alex is a very profound musician, who can cover almost any genre from jazz to progressive thrash metal. If you want some narcissistic and mindless shred examples, listen to today's TH-cam wankers.
Sadly, due to a copyright strike, I was forced to trim out the "More Than Meets The Eye" solo, my apologies to any who misses the Solo!
Alex, best thrash guitarrist ever 👏
He is very good obviously, but best thrash guitarist? That spot belongs to Dave Mustaine bro!
@@samcro9177Skolnick si beve Mustaine
Definitely one of the best. The guy is so clean and consistent.
1. Tommy Vetterli (Coroner)
2. Jeff Watters (Annihilator)
3. Skolnick
Alex is great, Gary Holt is a badass.
The solo in Return to Serenity is absolutely gorgeous! It's one of if not the greatest guitar solo ever.
Brotherhood of the Snake amazes me. To do a solo that has any kind of identity over a blast beat is hard enough.
return to serenity trumps cemetery gates for me
He can play every genre
True. A very well rounded musician
A Guitar Solo not its just a Solo, with all entire song, make it the best solo! Must blues solos on thrash! I love them
One of my favorite metal guitarists. So melodic. Absolutely gorgeous solos that give you goosebumps.
Very melodic indeed! Very cool!
Alex is probably the most underrated guitarist
After Criss Oliva, I'd agree
Those of us who know.....know he is absolutely one of the best.
Probably in your village.
Practice was definitely the best. True American Hate is a close second. Alex's skills are so much more then solos, all the fills he does is really what stands out in his playing style.
Alex is such a amazing. Guitarist. I'm 65, and I luv listening to his music. Thank u for posting this.
Fucking great, Alex is one of the best guitarist of all time.
Deffo, the best of Satriani's disciples, and that's not to slight Vai or LaLonde.
Respect Alex Skolnick. 🙏
Maestro. Alex is truely amazing.
was 18 yrs old when 'New World Order' was released. To this day I have never head banged w/ air guitar to anyone more than Mr. Skolnick.
Return to serenity..Best Alex Skolnick Solo & Testament song Ever..🎸🥁👌🏼👍🏼
he plays the solos so well live
Return to serenity, Eerie Inhabitants, Ballad, More Than Meets The Eye, etc. you have left a lot of masterpieces out
god of metal.
Guitar god status for sure. Something I like about testament too is they all seem to authentically really enjoy themselves the most too
Man, I was at that gig on the first video, Koko, the old Camden Palace. It's one of the best gigs I've ever been to, so thick was the atmosphere. Incredible.
Waouhhhhhh the best for ever!
Return to serenity, the song into the song!
The first strike is deadly 💥
Keeps great deal of magic, what was thrash metal back in a day.
GUITAR GOD. ALEX SKOLNICK
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Chucks loving it in sins of omission
He is one of the best guitarist love his sweep picking and concept 👍🏻❤️
Fantastic compilation
No Return To Serenity?
Alex, one of my favorite guitarists
Para mi uno de los mejores guitarristas en el metal sin ninguna duda...
My top 5 fav player. Best of the best!!!
Alex is a Monster

Alex!
Excellent pick of solos!
God
Alex the best
Alex is a really solid lead player. I prefer him over kirk. Dont get me wrong. I started playing guitar back in 2014 because of kirk hammett
We all know that Alex is a better lead guitarist than Kirk.
@@arvindshastry1178 but he is so underrated which is kinda sad

Day in the death is just face melting
Please testament at the hellfest 😭
They played at 2019
Is there no video of Alex playing the Return to Serenity solo live???
He uploaded a video of him playing it on his personal channel
Testament have played that song a few times live but never with Alex.
@@Niamorg1007 I found that. And promptly put it on loop for about an hour. 😁
I also like the solo to the Ballad. Also the intro is beautiful ❤️

The whiskey club I love it
How does Chuck tune his mic stand 🤷♂️
Awesome
Супер!

And in my opinion Alex is the best thrash metal guitarist
Arvind Shastri Eric Peterson writes most riffs though - he is also awesome
@@lo3572 I know Eric is amazing and a great riff writer but Alex has always been the star of Testament.
They at the top of my big 4 testament overkill exodus and testament lol. Hard to pick a 4th
They are crazy. Especially now, with Steve DiGirgio on bass, Gene hoglan on drums and ofc Eric and Alex. Insane musicianship there.
Dude... where is Musical Death???
That damn legato
Im met Alex in person after they did they souls in black
i heard is one the nicest people
Pick sweeping master !
Alex is pretty good at guitar, but his skills are NOTHING in comparison to Chucks air guitar skills
Chuck has a way of approaching a mic stand much the same way as Picasso or DiVincci approached canvas.
You all come highly recommended.
I wish he would've stayed in Savatage. WITH Al Pitrelli, it wouldve been EPIC
I love all these sokos
Le meilleur. Sous évalué depuis toujours alors que c'est le maître de la mélodie Métal.
Oh my God 💥😅 the best in the world
あら、いいですね!( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)♬
E richard benson muto.
Best solo is at the End... practices what you preacj
... Power Slave Maiden's cover solo is fucking awesome...
Sweep picking abuse
His master is joe Satriani
He's more diverse than Joe.
Alex is great, but Chuck is the third best guitarist in the current Testament lineup.
Fast and technical : sure...
But nothing to ride home...just mindless shredding.

He’s way better than Kirk .Kirk does good for what style his band plays tho.
Who plays better air guitar tho! Looks like chuckie boy has Alex beat!
Not my cup of tea...
