Fab camps, Robin, and nice weather ! well timed . fine bothies. desent tarp.Fireplaces removed and sold !!+Well done ian for the graham . great stuff !!
Bit late since you posted this 4 years ago. Did Cointich and Faochaig last weekend absolutely knackered especially after walk down Glen Elchaig. Next day did the 2 Corbetts at Arnisdale not bad for an old man! Climbed Aonach Bhuide a couple of years ago using bike to Iron Lodge and return much easier. Love the vids I have a few on U tube but not as professional as yours. ATB
Killilan is a fantastic area, we enjoyed this one a lot. That's a good shift by the way, the Arnisdale Corbetts are a tough outing too. It's nice to film your trips, even if its just for memories.
Hey there Robin just popping in to see how you're getting on. I thought I;d go back. Full relaxed view mate and what a lot of fun. Great pitches, good company, awesome views as usual and a mighty fine house sale. I did enjoy that. Well, take care up there. See out and about soon. Mark
They must have gotten more wind than they bargained for with that wind turbine hahaha! The fire looks so cool a night as well. Amazing video man, thanks for sharing.
Another excellent video Robin. I walked though Killilan and Glen Ling and on over to Strathcarron in 2016. I had started in Kirk Yetholm with the ultimate goal of Cape Wrath but decided I was knackered and got a train to Inverness in Strathcarron. It's a stunning area around there. Gary.
No, I went back the following year and got as far as Inchnadamph and after a night spent coughing and shivering with a virus in the tent, hitched back to Ullapool. If I'm still young enough when this bl**dy virus has subsided LOL! I want to start the CWT again from the beginning.
Hi Robin, Enjoyed the video. I walked the Scottish National Trail last year (2019), including the Cape Wrath Trail. I passed the buildings at iron Lodge and remember seeing a notice about asbestos being the reason for not doing anything with the house. Keep up the good work after this virus has passed. Keep safe. yours aye, Norrie frae Lithgae
😲 Not sure I wanted to know that after wandering around the building. But makes sense nevertheless. Your walk must have been epic, I was meant to be doing the Cape Wrath Trail in May. Will wait until next Spring now. Cheers Norrie, stay safe mate. 👍🏼
Just looked at this one Robin, I cycled in to Iron Lodge in August last year to do An Socach and had a look in the window of the lodge, still in a state but at least the door had been secured. I appreciate you were doing a circular walk but we cycled back out in about 45 mins. We were planning on going back this year for Mullach Na Dheiragainn but who knows now. cheers
Brilliant video. Hello from England. Scotland is beautiful and we visit it every year climbing the stunning peaks you have. You just earned a new subscriber. I always feel so at home and comfortable in the Scottish highlands. It's where I feel most alive. I always feel devastated when I have to leave..
Looked like a great weekend was had Robin , some pretty remote looking hills but full of hidden gems , pity that house is just left to rot I bet it stank of damp foist . sounded like your mic was holding out ok in that wind . Great stuff mate atb Dave
Cheers Dave, I lost a lot of footage on this trip due to the wind. When I got home, I discovered it was unusable. Probably just as well as its still 20 minutes long. 😂
Great hike Robin, looks like the weather was on your side. Bla Band is my favourite out of all the dehydrated meals too. What a shame about the derelict lodge, would be great if the Bothy Association could take it on. Cheers Anthony 👍
Cheers Anthony, it would make a fine bothy and still a good trek in to keep the muppets away. There was an identical building further down the Glen that looked like it was going the same way.
You can't beat the 2 Ronnie's. I thought that was an ironing board on that 1st summit lol. What's the tarp not sure if it's a trailstar How's it do in the wind? Pity that Lodge is a midden right enough that's the people that go there doing it. Great stuff good to watch as I relax in the scottish sun.
Aw the mangled turbine? The Trailstar is awesome, sheds wind like a boss and always get a taught pitch. Only weakness is if wind changes direction. It's a shame about the lodge eh, I watched Hermit's visit again after making this, looked untouched, same bag of rubbish appeared in his too.
Do walking poles actually help or are they just an extra weight to carry? The wind had blown down the wind turbine...LOL! That posh camping restraunt looked a bit shite. Only 1 food on the menu, and only 1 beverage. At least you had a decent view with your oats. The 3 sisters...Bugger that! I will watch so I don't have to do it. That place was a shithole. I mean the building not your walk..LOL Nice walk. Enjoyed following you on it.
Hi Eggnog, 😁 poles help a lot particularly on the descent and for river crossings. Plus they hold up my tarp. I've had minor knee injuries in the past, so I wouldn't be without them now. Thanks for watching Cheers Robin
Brilliant vlog! That bridge gave me the fear you are all brave 😱 I would not have walked over that 😂 I love the views I would so love to camp there it must feel amazing for the soul. Keep up the great work you are a natural 😊💖
Looks like you had great weather for it :D Thanks for taking us all along with you to see this lovely scenery :D That bridge had seen better days !!!! Lol So had that house! Although check out a website called broken bog ......Think you may be surprised at how much those old retro bathroom suits sell for now :D I can Imagine how nice it would be to stay in that house if it was done up a bit . Atb :D Teddy
That bridge was like something out of Indiana Jones. 😁 Thankfully it wasn't part of our route. That was an incipid bathroom suite. 😂 Thanks for watching Teddy. Cheers Robin
Kev moaning about the 3 hour hike from the bothy to the corbett’s summit 😅 Your camp spot certainly looked better than that abandoned house! By the way, it’s not spaghetti carbonara if it’s pasta shells-please don’t give me anxiety! 😅
Loved the abandoned house, but didn't want to sleep in it. 😆 I had to watch back, and I said pasta carbonara by the way. 😉 What's your next Scottish adventure plans?
Walk With Wallace 👣 Haha! You’re not a red carpet type of guy? Mate, 5:21 🧐 I know coz it gave me palpitations 😂 I’ve got Skye Trail planned for May.. that’s all i have for now 😄
@@FunsizedEarthling in my defence at 4:51 I said pasta. 😂 I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on. I'd like to do the Skye Trail too. Cape Wrath for me first though. 😎
This was a couple months before. The pole seized up a bit after the Fisherfield trip. Got a bargain on Wiggle earlier this year. Black Diamond poles delivered for £48. £98 in Tiso.
My brother unfortunately lost his life after an accidental fall on Sguman Coinntich just 2 weeks before your clip was uploaded....He had over 30 yrs experience.
Thanks Gregory, bothies are free and no booking system either. You just turn up. Some can be busy, so you'd still take a tent just in case. They're maintained by a charity called the Mountain Bothy Association (MBA) and you can also join for £25pa to help pay towards maintaining the bothies. Wonderful set up. Would you stay in one?

Another great film Robin. Cheers.
Thanks Stewart. 😊
Nothing else to do this evening so I have came back for a second visit, most enjoyable evening to.

Very nice walk and the Iron Lodge is something else.
Thanks Ray. It's in a fine location. Wouldn't take too much to spruce it up again.
Looks like quite an interesting adventure!
That was a peach of a trip even with that wind.

Yeah from memory the first night was a bit restless. 2nd night was better. 😴
