  • Today we are installing a set of Swag Off-road body mounts. These were sooooo easy and make for a great beginner welding project. The low hanging body mounts on the Jeep TJ are a big problem if you enjoy a lot of rocks or time off road. Today we fix this problem once and for all! Enjoy and stay creative!

    So how long did the "two hour" project really take?
    And how long would it have been without the cameras?

      @DirtLifestyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I could knock this out in 2 hrs with no cameras easy. But with cameras I started between 5 and 6 in the morning and finished the edit around 11 at night. Then I went out to the shop to do a quick coat of paint 👍

      @BOB SAGET did I miss something.. ? All I said was I expected to see something abou tportal axles.. as a sort of joke.. then you come along talking about how only uber rich posers use portal axles.. then when that view isn't entirely accurate because manufacturers actually use them, it some how turns into some weird confrontational verbal exchange on your part... but hey.. to each their own you keep on hating portals and I'll keep on being curious..

    So I have a question if you where to do it over would you still do the tdi swap? Clearly more usable power in the appropriate area over the stock 4.0 but was it really worth it? If so is there anything you would do differently?

    Do you have a discount code with Swag? I'd love to make sure you get some credit for my purchase. If not, the Barnes kit looks almost identical to me.

      I don't unfortunately. Barnes and swag are both top notch 👍

    Very nice man. These are on my short list, and in fact just this morning was talking to a friend about how I want to incorporate something like these into a high clearance belly pan I want to build. Curious, what do you do about the rear frame body mounts? just pucks? Thanks!

    • @DirtLifestyle
      @DirtLifestyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rears are still just body lift pucks 👍

    Cool video Nate. I have a body mount nutsert that is spinning that is holding a cheapo nerf bar rock slider on my TJ which has kissed many rocks and needs to be upgraded. Do you recommend cutting a hole in the body to get to the nutsert or something else?

    Awesome idea to upgrade! I am definitely going to consider this! Do you already have a body lift installed prior to this or are you not running one? Thanks!

      Yes sir! It had a 1"body lift so I just removed the 6 center pucks for extra clearance 👍

    "there's always slight variances from the factory".
    That may be true but I don't think yours were from the factory!
