Dude! I am looking forward to these! Saw your post about about them at SIAS and was super keen! Its quite hard to find a neutralish IEM these days and I am so happy that there is an option for them!
Yeah man! Its very rare to see neutral IEMS. And even when they are tuned that way it needs to be technically very competent to pull off such a signature!
Great review! May you please try the HBB deuce. I like it a lot but wonder how it compares to the rest in terms of bass quality, resolution, and soundstage
Oh I will review it shortly and have given it an extensive listen. It is a pair to get if you like loads of quantity of bass. It has a lot and even more with the impedance adapter. But if you are looking for clean, quick, quality bass. It does a decent job but I won't say that it is great. This is a great pair for the days where you just want your brain to rattle.
That's one huge case! Probably could fit a small DAP inside? Btw, how is the microplanar implementation different compared to Dusk? That's my only other experience with microplanar
Oh I found that they extend very well in to the treble. It is pretty smooth as well but not to the extend of EST driver but still awesome none the less! I don't think a DAP can fit in the case but a dongle will be fine for sure!
im really looking forward to these. i currently have mega5 est and was wondering how they compare to them. Also whats your opinion about the MMCX connection? im thinking about getting mmcx cause i only use one Cable for an iem and i heard its more secure.
@@BlackOutIRL I haven’t tried those so I can’t compare in fairness. The issue with mmcx is that it spins and it wares out the connector but I must say the ones on the Dk3001bd is quite still which is good.
Hey man, i just wonder, i watched the whole review, i see is a "unique tuning", i see it has good resolution, but it doesnt seem to be the safest tuning, more so with that extra treble on top of not having like the "superior" resolution and so on, so, could you please explain me what or how exactly this is a A+ iem? its a genuine question, im trying to understand the thought process but i cant quite grasp it, i mean, for me those seem a bit more like downsides, or maybe my expectatives for the $500 price range are too high? im just genuinely confused with some reviews, i see that it could be great, but i personally dont really get it how is it great compared other options.
No problem. The tuning on these I would classify them to be neutral with an elevated sub bass response and I applaud that. It isn't the safest but it is interesting done right and not just for the sake of making it interesting. The thing about graphs is that it tells you about 30% of the complete picture of how an IEM sounds as tone is largely derived from materials used, driver charecteristics and implementation. Treble on these are well extended and tonally very smooth. This is pretty well done. There are other IEMs that try to replicate such a performance by actually increasing treble beyond the capability of the driver which lends for more distortion , ergo, less smooth. Your question when it comes to resolution really there are multiple factors leading to this. Most perceptible details are located in the midrange and yes with elevated treble response, it will bring out more clarity. But resolution is also a sum of other components including the perfectness of time alignment in terms of a multi driver iem and what are the transient charecteristics of such drivers and how they harmonize with other driver types. How the DK3001BD deserves a A+ (or very close to S) would be that it manages to have resolution at all frequency bands in a natural manner that does not sound forced. Treble extension is very well done (you can see that it extends all the way to 20K) and not done by increasing the volume of the treble which will cause greater distortion levels. As such it is a spacious experience that sounds like it has elevated treble in terms of volume but it really does not. It is just very well extended. And to match that tuning they managed to craft bass that is dynamic complementing this sort of neutral sort of sound. This isn;t an easy feat as if not done well, will color midrange. I found that the DK3001BK to be largely natural sounding despite the bass dynamics. I
@@SuperChonk First of all, thank you very much for the detailed explanation, I have recently been trying to take part in review writing, and this kind of different perspectives are extremely valuable to me. Now, if I understand correctly (and if not, please correct me): the reason why you think it's a great IEM, in broad terms at least, is because it's a neutral tuning that handles certain characteristics such as an elevated sub-bass and a well extended treble which, if it hadn't been done with care, could easily have been a misapplication of the tuning style Dunu was going for, but in this case, the components of the DK-3001BD were specifically selected to achieve a sound that is both neutral and detailed, but also somehow engaging and special, something that is not easy to achieve, and that it can be very appealing to people who are looking for more specific experiences and are willing to pay the price for them. I ask because I may have the opportunity to test and comment on these iems, and I want to understand what several reviewers found so special about them. If it wouldn't be a nuisance to you, would it be possible for you to mention or give me some advice on how I should approach experimenting with these headphones to understand them better? Since I have never really tried anything in this price range, I want to give my opinion from the perspective of someone for whom investing the amount of money that these headphones cost is not an easy thing to do, and mention why they are or are not an option that people should consider when aiming at this kind of price range. Either way, thanks a lot for using some of your time to educate me.
@@jonix24mejor Neutral tunings are the easiest to get wrong because you can't hide behind a veil of coloration. So technicalities become paramount is these sort of tuning. It will be very easy to tune a bland sound if technicalities are not done right with a neutral tuning which fortunately the Dunu did quite well. I think the most important aspect when it comes to reviewing earphones is to have an open mind and not to be limited to things such as price. It is nice that there are affordable earphones to bring people into the hobby but it is also equally important for manufacturers to experiment and to bring more improvements in the future. Of course these improvements have to incurr R&D cost which will some earphones to be more expensive. It is equally important to know what to listen out for when it comes to reviewing. Hey, first time on your channel. Just curious on your graphs, will we get a swuiglink for your graphs? any ways hope you success
