The only flaw in this sequence is allowing Midna's Lament to be interrupted by the battle music. It undermines the tone of emotional urgency the player is supposed to experience.

From my understanding it's a problem with the file formatting and the way the game was coded but realistically probably laziness also

Rt, I would always get annoyed whenever I heard that enemy music but it just pissed me off even more when it stopped Midnas lamnent

Probably the devps thought, "oh, we better make the enemy music cut it, how else will the stupid players know when there is an enemy nearby"
I remember when I played this, the trip to saving midna was much longer than it apparently actually is.

You better believe I BOOKED it at this part. I didn't care if there was a time limit or not, I was INVESTED. It stands today as one of my all-time favourite Zelda moments, and Twilight Princess itself is nearly my top Zelda Game

at 0:24 zant may look like he was not fazed but underneath his mask he was having a pretty hard time with the spirit's light

One of few times in Zelda the player feels completely hopeless.
The only time actually, from what I can recall; Except maybe for 2 instances in OOT, but still it doesn't affect the player as much as Midna does, because this is a character grief, not a plot-related one.
It's not about the world getting destroyed, it's about a friend of yours, that's why it feels so freaking intense.
I had forgotten how wonderful this game was. :'(

Had a dream that I was experiencing this part of the game but there was a time limit for the sun going up -and- I did not have long to do it, plus you had to use a canal to get into Castle Town and then platform across the roofs- then having to fight through the guards of castle town to get to Zelda

Ozcrash I absolutely loved the first time I played it, while everyone else hated it
9:28 I do find it a little strange how the Poe side quest was introduced. The player is trying to get to Zelda in a hurry. The way this quest was initiated felt a bit out of place. Like it detracts from the suspense of rushing to Zelda to get help for Midna.
A minor side note. Even though Jovani is immobile due to the curse, he is somehow able to open the entrance to the waterway?

i really hope they build on zant in botw 2. All the eggs in the trailers paint the picture that its strongly tied to this game, and its totally dark atmosphere makes it seem that much more certain that well get more out of this guy than one boss battle and a neck snap.
The way they set up botw and the DLC makes it look like all of the timeliness converge in some weird temporal anomly.
though i agree with you that they could have done a Lot more with Zant, i think you're kinda underselling his neck snap. it's very rare for one of Ganon's henchmen to fully turn on him, much less deliver the killing blow!

Midna was originally the princess of the dark world, but Zant placed a curse on her, turning her into that imp. Zant's plan was to then take over the Dark World AND the Light world. Midna then uses Link to get the three shadow pieces so she can take her place back.

+Kelsey Wilfert You forgot to mention that zant got the power back in the twilight realm by making a deal with Ganondorf who would exchange few powers thus giving zant god like strength and giving Ganondorf the ability to leave the twilight realm (since he was sealed in the mirror of twilight by the sages). Zant turned Midnas people also into shadow beasts which is why later in the Twilight Realm you use spears of light to turn back her people.

I tried playing this on the Wii and I just could hack it...
So I I ended up buying it for gamecube a little later...
I played it so much I beat it in 4 days lol.
And at this part of the game I was the most invested, well besides the boss fight where you have to use every weapon in the game.
But needless to say, this is a truly amazing game and I highly recommend playing it...
Just be for warned... the motion on the Wii ruined it for me, so I suggest playing a version without that.
