Good question. I guess you could measure the boxes' circumference as a guide (horizontal and vertical). For example if your box is 15x20x10cm (h), the two circumferences would be 50cm (15+10+15+10) and 60cm (20+10+20+10). It this case a 70 x 70cm Furoshiki should fit (standard size).

The towel in the video is 70x70cm, I think the box is about 15cm on all sides.
