I’ve learned a lot from your bookbinding videos, but I can completely understand why you would want to explore or do other arts and crafts. Although I don’t currently make books for a living, I once did and it took me a long time to circle back to bookbinding and get back into it. Variety is the spice of life, right?! 😊 Anyway, thanks for sharing your rebinding of your book. I’ve yet to try that technique so now I’m inspired to do so!
This is a really cool technique - thank you for sharing your tips and tricks! As a side note: you have such a pleasant voice. Someone else in the comments mentioned they find your videos calming…I second that!
Excited to hear more book stuff is coming! This book always stood out to me because the design on the cover contrasted with the blue inside cover looked so cool.
I’m enjoying your back videos again. I agree with you about videoing becoming a chore, so it is nice to see you returning to your books. This is a binding I’ve not tried yet so am going to refer to this and your original tutorial. Many thanks, you explain well.
I learned from you and oddly enough, I find it helps with my anxiety a lot. 😅. Love your channel and completely understand of you wanting to take a break from it. Hugs to Kona. 🐶
I love your book. I am surprised you went with the same thread again. I have used synthetic thread for other projects over the years and it has never been a good thread for me. For that nice of a book, I would have used another kind of thread. Although I am curious to see if beeswax is the actual solution. I guess we may need to wait another 10 years to find out! Thank you for showing how you rebound it and I really hope it works this time!
Ah this looks like such a complicated but neat stitch! I might attempt it one day!! Also compltely understandable when it comes to burning out for a passion on YT! just glad you arent limiting yourself to just book binding!
It’s great to hear about your process re the book binding vids. I have taken a break too from book binding and have become an avid jigsaw puzzler. But I am about to return to book binding using parts of assembled puzzles. It wasn’t preplanned but it is refreshing the creativity in the book binding focus. I keep subbed to your channel because your vids are so well made!🦌💌❤️📚
Must be hard to balance what you want to do with what people expect you to do! My channel is still fairly small and I’m still at the stage of doing a bit of everything without any schedule.
I really love your channel and your bookbinding! I'd LOVE to see more of bookbinding, if that's something you wanna do. I recently watched one of your videos when you commented that your techniques are not always the "traditional" way of doing it (like the kettle stitch binding was not "real" kettle stitch). So just if you WANT to do more book related videos, maybe it could be cool to try some really traditional methods etc, and at times maybe what you yourself prefer as an alternative and why. There are things I just CANNOT ever manage to make look good, like head/tailbands or using cords on the spine. Usually it ends up with some weird glueing here and there to save the situation... Also (very random) but I just now really try to find ways of embossing/debossing with/without foiling/color. I can't afford buying a whole cricut machine to do it :/ For this project I'm working on I wanna have my initials on the book cover. So I can't really buy a premade embossing product either. So MAYBE it can give you some inspiration to do things like that (meaning details etc, your Tom Riddle book pops up in my head as an example)
I wonder if the polyester stretches. It doesn’t look like you overused it for writing or drawing. Must be the book gremlins. We’ll see in another ______ years. Sorry you got worn out with making books. When I worked in the field of art, I didn’t paint for years. Hope you find your creative mojo.
Hi, I've been making some new books recently and I thought I saw you make a french link binding on a hardboard book? Was that you? and do you have a pdf for the french link recipe?
I think I should send you a gift considering our 10+ years anniversary and my 3 TH-cam account because I couldn't get in my last 2😂 If it is possible, I could send you some leather and do what you can. It's zero waste sourced so it's nice quality and very cheap. Like 7$ per kilo.

I really appreciate you showing the oopsies and you seem to always give yourself grace that it is still functional ❤ Really ticks me off sometimes 😅

I really want to try this one day, bookbinding always looks so fascinating 🥰
I really like this binding because the pages lay flat when the book is open.🦌💌❤️📚

Oh I'm excited for this!!

I am trying this binding style someday
Thank you for sharing. ❤

Where have you gone to? Miss new videos from you. I hope you are alright.
I wonder if it will loosen with use
