Thank you so much for this little series. Oil painting has always seemed too complicated and kind of scary, so I'm excited to give it a go now with the knowledge I've learned watching these videos.
Now all I have to do is not spend all my money on a full set straight off!

Hello! I am wondering if the Gamblin gel affects the water solubility of the WMOs during cleanup. Thanks ❤️

What do you think about the Artisan Fast Drying Medium? Have you tried it ( or maybe you’ll mention it) It seems to work very well for speedier drying. I’ve never seen the Artisan medium you’re showing. But I have used the Gamblin gel and like it very much. I think they have a liquid formula of it too. I have a fairly small range of of regular oils and a 20 color “sample” set 15 ml tubes, of Artisan along with a Artisan mixing set of five 37 ml tubes. And I have a decent range of a dozen or so oil sticks. Im only barely gaining some confidence with oils and my first love is still watercolors, but it’s fun to try different color mediums. Thanks!

The artisan thinner is toxic artisan means it water soluble

It isn’t toxic. The safety data sheet confirms that it has been certified by the ACMI and has been given the AP seal (meaning it has no chronic or acute human health hazards).

Ok thanks for correcting me but be careful sometimes water soluble oil mediums are toxic

@@etiennecaouette9232Yes, I agree! I always look at safety data sheets. I also always double and even triple check things before I create videos so I don’t spread misinformation. 😊

@@LeslieStroz Great video! Pretty sure the only thing toxic about Artisan thinner is the same thing that's technically ever so slightly toxic about all WMO paints which is that the binding molecule added for water miscibility is lead. The thinner is mostly just water with the lead binding molecule added and maybe small amounts of some other stuff. Remember this is hardly a toxic amount of lead, as in there is way more lead in a single medium sized brush stroke of flake white than in Leslie's entire bottle of Artisan thinner.
