Hi from Hong Kong. Here I am stuck in my apartment because of the Coronavirus scare. To entertain myself, I have been watching your channel. It makes me homesick as I am actually from northern British Columbia. We have 10 acres in a very rural setting. Anyway, I enjoyed your root cellar video. We will need a root cellar eventually too. Really like the cooking videos.
That scenery is absolutely stunning. A perfect Christmas card. Here in Australia our Christmas's are sooo hot, humid and horrid. I'm a winter person. Being Australian born and bred, I have never seen or felt snow. We get snow in winter in the mountains here in Victoria, N.S.W. Watching these video's gives me an insight as to how beautiful, and yes work. That lovely house of your's is so deceiving from the outside it looks tiny, but inside absolutely beautiful and quite large, soup, home cooked PERFECT rolls amazing. I missed your chicken preserving so watching that now..I adore the way you love your beautiful dog's with their little coats. Thank you so much for sharing your daily life with us Ariel and Eric. Hug's from Australia my favourite TH-cam channel. 😇❄☃️⛄
I love watching your meal preparations. I couldn't do any of that even after I watched 50 of your videos. The food looks so much better than the best restaurants. You eat better than 99% of the people in the US.
Nick Donaldson Yes we are getting the hang of it, it was tipping too easily when we got it and I think I fixed the problem but we will see when the next snow hits!
Great VLOG once again. I love your photography. Just subscribed and now binge watching previous episodes! Stark contrast to the hot and dry weather here in Australia. Great work and thanks for the efforts you go to.
It snowed at the Illia Homestead!!! How on earth did Eric avoid the *snuck* when he opened the truck door??!!! That is skills! That winch/blade setup is nice, we use the same system. Handy to have! Beautiful scenery!! Caddis was watching your pups romp around. Can you send some of those buns over our way? Cheers folks, awesome video!!
We are glad to have the snow, it has been a strange winter here so far (weather wise). Our dog, Bandit LOVES the snow! I don't know how Eric got lucky, we are new to the whole lots of snow experience! ❄
Shop broom for snow removal... makes quick work of that Alaskan Snow! The rolls looked awesome! Oh one other thing... if you dont mind advice, always keep in mind to plow to the low side of any path, drive way... I know that should be common sense but for some its not until it melts and then freezes again and makes ice in your way! Cheers!
Thank you, good advice. It was Eric's first time plowing, we have actually continually had a frozen driveway for the past two months! Definitely need the broom, one more thing for the Alaskan winters! :)
My family an I have been considering moving to Alaska in the next 5 years. I’ve been doing research and watching your videos really helps us. Thank you!
Snow is beautiful. We get a plenty each winter. A lot of people see beauty. I think yucky driving. Plowing the driveway. The kids see sledding , snow man building, snow angels, fort building, and hopefully a snow day from school.💕. NonnaGrace
In fort Kent Maine they had over 200 inches of snow. What and this was in a short amount of time. What would you guys do that happened? And when I see a short amount of time I believe it was from like end of November till beginning of March I could be wrong. I mean people were able to drive snowmobiles on top of roofs. and when the lakes and rivers broke it actually pushedthe international bridge where they had to rebuild a newer one that was higher. And I think it was 1995 I could be wrong. But an allagash mean when the river ice broke it took a bridge right out. People were watching the ice go and it actually just push the bridge within minutes.I remember this because kids once the ice stop flowing had to take a boat across the river in order to come to school
Hi, I was just pondering your snow covered solar panels. Is there no way of transferring heat into the panel from batteries, similar to heated window screen in a car?
Hi Kara, it is actually butternut squash (steamed then I use an immersion blender with broth), I think this soup had onions, garlic, and potatoes, I like to put corn but I think we ran out when I made this. Hope that is of some help! :)
Okay Ive binged almost all your videos I like the newer or recent ones better only because of the music. The less music the better. Just my worthless two cents.
cool channel.. new sub here.. .. (we got snow here too,, in southern Arizona.. i have videos of it.. very beautiful.). .. Good Luck with your channel,, i will be watching..
Rewind time I have been watching past videos and enjoying all of the content, Simple living Alaska is my favorite

What a beautiful day. Thanks for taking us along.
Looks like Eric had so much fun 🤩
As Ariel unloaded the truck, Eric poked her. You play while you are working. You two are so cute together. Keep going 😊
Looks like it’s going to be a white Christmas.
Who doesn’t like working in the snow. Yay!
The food is just as beautiful as Alaska 😍

Yay, beautiful refreshing snow. Have fun Y'all!
I've seen some pretty janky plows, that one wins lol. But hey, if it works! Thanks for posting!
Get a push broom with plastic bristles to clean the snow off of your truck.
Love seeing snow covered trees.😀

I imagine we may feel differently about snow in a few years too! :)
Brrrrr.... Snow is so pretty, try to stay warm. 😀
That bar looks like the grill you you were cooking frost bitten moose with. Pretty cool you improvise, think that's how you spell it.
Bushcraft student Kyle Sierra, thank you! We appreciate you commenting, you have a pretty cool channel :)
Hello frpm MN,kool vid,thank you

What clothes do you think are best
Yaeeee snow

H2Dwoat we aren't sure, we just wipe them when it snows, ingenuity is a something we have to strive towards ☺
Curious of your pumpkin soup recipe.

@@SimpleLivingAlaska awesome. Was just curios if you had a go to squash soup recipe because it did look super yummy. Bread was rocking too

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
YOU NEED A SKID STEER LOADER
I also need 30k to buy one haha!
Numerous reasons why I would never put a plow on such a small vehicle. Cant push as much snow, no inside to stay warm in.
cool channel.. new sub here.. .. (we got snow here too,, in southern Arizona.. i have videos of it.. very beautiful.). .. Good Luck with your channel,, i will be watching..
Very cool thanks for commenting✌
Need 3500 truck
*DROOL* Nothing compares to eating a sandwich made on home-made bread!
Tone down the music, it’s deafening!
