  • Thinking of adding auxiliary lights to your bike? Erik Stephens, lighting expert and founder of Twisted Throttle and Denali Electronics, helps answer some important lighting questions. Why is auxiliary lighting important? How much lighting can my bike handle? How much lighting do I need to ride safely at night? Can I install it myself? What are the differences between bargain-bin and more expensive units?

It's *possible* the controller boards have gone bad from voltage fluctuation or environmental stuff (water, etc.). Best thing to do is check a different set of lamps, and possibly replace them.

The video was so good until the small bike versus larger bike. Completely lost me. I was expecting you to talk about some options, maybe flood lighting vs spot lighting or different mounting options.

Of course, the guy that runs a shop will always say that you "have to take it to a shop"!

Hello there I have added some round auxiliary LED pods to my trike moped for extra headlights. For some reason the two sets of PODS that I have installed have burned out, not completely but to the point that they are useless. I removed the lights and tested them individually on a 12 v motorcycle battery. They are really dim I don't know what's causing them to burn out like they have. I have them wired directly to the battery with no inline fuse. Could this be the cause of the lights burning out?
