Coach Austin DeSanto

Ausitn DeSanto is an assistant coach for the Iowa City Wrestling Club under head coach Alex Marinelli. Marinelli says there's no way he would have hired Austin to coach when he first met Austin. But DeSanto has come a long way and had made lots of progress both on and off the mat.

That red shirt is from my Father, Peter Horst's wrestling camp he used to run in Berks County. "Future Champion Wrestling Camp". Freshman year i wrestled desanto 4 times and he always wore the shirt.. Team county final, team districts, individual county final, and sectional final. He whooped my ass every time lol. The one time i pulled out an old red shirt my dad had from camp, wore it during warm ups. He still kicked my ass. Happy he found a great home and success 🎉

Say what you want about desanto or the brands brothers. Individuals that go through the hawkeye wrestling program/camp come out as better human beings, whether it be 1% better or 95% better. Good things come outta iowa. Glad to see desantos growth being a positive one.
