New York Jets DOMINATE Day 1 of 2024 NFL Draft, Add Olu Fashanu After Trade Down

Day one of the 2024 NFL Draft is now complete. The New York Jets have a new left tackle of the future, Penn State's Olu Fashanu. The Jets took Fashanu 11th overall after trading down one slot. The Jets didn't just add a top notch offensive line prospect. They added an extra fourth round pick in this year's Draft which gives the team plenty of flexibility entering day two.

Good to see you John B. Vikings probably wanted to move up to prevent another team from trading with the Jets for that spot. Other teams may have wanted to trade with the Jets to get McCarthy too. Vikings wanted to make sure that didn't happen. Let's hope day two goes well.

Exactly how I felt!!..I was surprised that the Jets didn’t trade up a few spots to grab Odunza which makes me believe the Jets really were thinking O-Line the whole time!!..Thought the Bears would grab an O-Linemen or a defensive player…But moving down 1 spot and grabbing a few more picks and getting Olu worked out perfectly!!!…Let’s Go Jets!!!….

Great episode, I'm also a big fan of just sticking with all the picks we have.
If there is a run on offense over defense in the second like there was in the first, there might be a REALLY good defensive prospect at like safety, linebacker or d-tackle that could really cement this defense for the next few years. Use all the fourth round picks on offense and double dip at wr, see if you can get lucky and find a late gem.
Maybe we even get lucky and the run on defense happens in the second and a really good wr/ol prospect drops there late. We could trade up for only a late fourth/fifth and still have multiple picks in the 4th.

Makes no sense to stick with all of the picks since there's little chance that the Day 3 picks even make the roster, let alone make an impact. Gotta use the ammo attained to move back up, even to an early 3rd rounder. Joe knows this, and we should expect it if they can find the right partner.

Just think about how many 1st round busts we have had in the past...anyone remember Dwayne robertson,Darron Lee, Dee Milliner, Kyle Wilson, Calvin Pryor? And that's just 1st round picks....How many 2nd round picks....Stephen Hill, Jace Amaro, Devin Smith, Denzel Mims, oh and don't forget Hackenburgh...lol...So, comparing JD to our past history of drafting.....I know, he's like the smartest kid in a classroom for Downs Syndrome, but, it's alot better than we have been, ya know?

Bowers will be a pro bowl TE in a year or two…… we don’t need that on the Jets. Brock Bowers is a play maker and a winner…… no room for that on the Jets. Enjoy your 1st round bench warmer
