Seems strange to ask for a top of the line coach AND mention Viera, who is trophy less as a manager. If USSF hears this they just might do it, they have NO PROBLEM making mistakes.
South Korea gets Guus Hiddink for their world cup and they make the semis. The US on the other hand, "why not Patrick Vieira?", anyone with half a brain: because he's a lackluster coach, his resume speaks for itself.
Speaking of Hiddink, why not him? He's younger than the president. Played in America. Technical. Has been able to get teams to punch above their weight. If he wants it, I vote for him.
I agree with Taylor, we need a high profile coach. Someone who can make a difference right away not a MLS coach that’s just going to continue doing what Gregg was doing.
Southgate you’re the one lol. Tbh I actually think southgate would be a good choice for America with low risk high reward. He has proven to consistently beat weaker to mid competition. A team like the US would want him in that aspect and has shown he can compete against top teams though is inconcistent in getting those results but compared to Greg he is much better. Also in 2026 I feel the US will get one of the weaker groups. We know Southgate more often than not has gotten luck and executed when groups or teams are at a lesser level than England.
Not Patrick Vierra. Not Now. Not Ever, unless his managerial skills improve. Yes, he won a World Cup as a player. But if that alone was a qualification, we might as well pull Ronaldinho out of whatever San Palo nightclub he's in right now and hire him. At least he does not have a piss poor managerial record like Viera. Viera's managerial record is a short list of abject failures with no real successes. His teams cannot score goals. His teams have produced a woeful 1.1 goals per game. looking deeper, they are terrible at even getting chances on goal, which has everything to do with his coaching style and tactics. He plays absurdly slow, defensive possession, and when that stops working, he defaults to parking of the bus, but with no apparent counter-attaking in the plan. He is basically Greb Berhalter 2.0. The only difference is he will yell and scream at players every time his terrible tactics get them into trouble because even as a player he had a bit of a short fuse. His temper seems to be the only thing Twellman cares about. It seems that since he cannot personally scream at the players, he wants a manager who will do it for him, even if that manager would be terrible. It's not like you can scream your way into good leadership, or just point to the fact that he once won a World Cup as a player. If you think that's true, his Crystal Palace team gave up on him so much, it was almost as if they'd gone on strike. The last three games before he was fired, they could not even manage a shot on goal. It would be even worse if this were not the product of the team giving up, but rather the product of his terrible system. I see no reason to bring in a guy who has not had a single successful managerial stint. Also, every team he's ever managed got better after he left. That should alone should be enough to say no to this guy. But apparently Twillman thinks tactics, the ability to communicate, and a system that will put players in a position to actually have a shot on goal, are less important than having a guy who screams allot.
yeah but as great a player as he was viera has been a mediocre coach. sure he's better than greg ... a road kill squirrel is better than greg so that's not much of a bar. but there are dozens of better coaches than viera like herve renard, pochetino ... heck as much as i don't want an mls coach this time Nancy's MLS coaching record is way better than Viera's.

Thomas Tuchel is the best option available. I wanted Jesse Marsch but it seems like he's locked down
Boy he couldn’t say it any better!
Rafa Benítez would be a realistic choice for the US and great tactical manager.
I don't want him, but he would be better than a too-young coach
He has experience and a good coach

@@dglesterhardunkichud7860 was on the 2018 Fox Sports WC team dancing with the DJ. I wonder what he’s up to.
Patrick Viera should be way down the list.
No Vierra

I'm not a Southgate fan, he's 100x more accomplished than Patrick Vierra.
Kasper Hjulmand could be a good coach for USMNT. he just left the national team job of Denmark.
If I picked a temporary coach outside of soccer, I would go maybe basketball? The pace seems more similar.
Plus Lebron is already on the team :).
Ffs
Ouch! LOL.
Gareth Southgate !!!! 🙏🇺🇸
He lost me at Viera

Klopp or bust!!! But realistically Rafa or Joachim Low would be great options for the USMNT.
Klopp said no thanks
Those are good options
Its Jurgen or bust
No Southgate!!!!! He’s the English GGG!!! The English don’t want him! England got lucky this Euros
You must be a USSF crooney to suggest Viera.

I know (hope) it’s a joke with the belechek thing but c’mon. Enough!
Patrick veira and Thierry Henry are not good coaches yet , still rookies . You need an experienced manager
He'll no Viera can't even win at club level.
