    Great review, and I just received my blue version one yesterday actually. As you mentioned, great watch for the price point. That is what people need to keep in mind. And surly, the colour will be a hit this spring and summer :)

    Looks like a lot of watch for the money, very pretty with that vibrant tiffany blue dial. I think a completely brushed bracelet would suit it better but that is just horses for courses. As always a nice review Mike 👍👍👍👍

    I own two Phoibos watches and I'm very happy with both models. The indices on the Voyager are very unique, they remind me of teardrops. Nice addition to the collection Michael. Glad you included the case back in the video. King Occy standing out like a boss! 😁 Best of luck with the Titus as well. Its a gorgeous little watch!

      Thank you! I liked the look of the Voyager 2 from photos ive seen. Phoibos are also sending me their new Apollo in the next few weeks. A crown at 8 so for me being a left hander is a dream come true! As for the Titus filming has begun.

    If I wasn't in a modding only mode at the moment, I might jump for this one. I have some minor issues with the numerics on the bezel insert, and the thickness on the indexes' outlines, but I would think this model is a hot performer. I also love the Phoibos logo and the caseback! i probably will grab one at some point just because of them!

    I have the yellow dial version and love how bright it is. I think out of all the colors it's the highest contrast because the low light date window problem isn't an issue with it. The blue was my second choice. Nice to see it other than on their site.

    @Gary-Seven-and-Isis-in-1968 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice watch, I like the blue dial, but I think I would have chosen the
    Mother of Pearl with a black bezel.
    I agree on the thickness, it could be less obtrusive with a narrower movement.
    That date window is a little bit too narrow, if wider would allow more light in
    for an easier to read in low light experience. Also I prefer to see a date dial
    colour matched to the watch dial.
    That beat error was bad, in my opinion Phoibos should set that straight before
    it left their production line. Never assume Seiko have done their job properly
    when it's your reputation on the line.
    All told, a great review Mike of an interesting and attractive timepiece.👍

    Great review, Mike. Interesting comment about the NH35 being overused maybe a bit these days. I'd like to see the Selitta movements get more action from the microbrands. Just to have a choice. Yes, it'll impact the price.
    Downsides... As a designer, I don't love the red coloured bezel marker and dial text on a baby blue dial. It stands out like a sore bezel marker. Otherwise, yes, it's a winner.

    • @MyRetroWatches
      @MyRetroWatches  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The PT5000 looks to be a good movement clone of the ETA2824 along with the Selitta being the same clone. The eastern watch movements are becoming quite technically impressive offering hi beat and decent power reserves. Longevity who knows but my hunch is they will be fine. Seikos ive worked on from 50 years ago are still going strong with only 1 service. whereas hi end stuff probably not so due to higher tolerances on parts and then wear taking them out of tolerance and reducing performance.

    Used to own the MK2. Excellent build quality, but found it was a tad top heavy. It is a shame they have removed the textured fume dial, but I am glad they have trimmed 1mm off of it. I also think it would have been nice if they had changed the box sides. As a matter of interest, if you regulate an NH35 to +7spd dial up, in real life it will like a quartz. Great review

    I'm surprised at how far they've been able to come with that movement, the finish, aesthetics and the price. It's a tremendous value and also just a great watch in itself - particularly if it is durable. I was so glad to see you adjust it to near-perfection, so we know it can be done. The only gripe is maybe the dim date display on some finishes. That's a shame and mars an otherwise stellar watch that I think is really beautiful. It is a bit "chunky" from the side, but who among us isnt? (lol). And wow the price is right for what you get. I'm not heavily into Divers watches but that retro style is truly groovy - and does nothing to detract from the function. It's sweet, it's tugging at me. What else can I say?

      Thanks for this comment. This is my 3rd look at Phoibos and they are going in the right direction as it’s still early days for them. Each model is different from the last, some people will like others people won’t.

      They have a new model coming called the Apollo which is completely different again.

      Not sure for certain . Shipping from Europe in my day job still incurs taxes now we are out of the EU.

      @@MegaJayRizz not good at all. I can understand if a refund is requested they would want to see the goods to be sure no foul play is at hand. Still if it’s not working then then warranty covers the movement. That’s how I view their card in the box. I’ve only had good experience with them so I do feel for you however if your claim is genuine and there is a fault with the movement then it will be evident straight away. The movement is hand winding anyway so no need to wear it to give it power.
      Does it not do a thing? Not a tick or tock? This would suggest a problem jamming the movement dirt or even the case gasket has not been put on right. Or watch is stuck in hacking mode. Should be an NH35 seiko movement which are reliable but like any mass produced movement can sometimes be faulty. A new movement can be obtained for £35 or less nowadays.
