I found the same when reading the watch series to hubby so understand, had never noticed when just reading to my self. How thoughtful to take your colleague out for breakfast, just what I'd expect of Mr S. I spent as much time this morning as various aches and pains would allow getting my 2 dogs clipped ready to bath another day, cant cope with it all at once these days. This afternoon wrapped hubby's Christmas gifts as last one arrived today.
The thing I dislike about Terry's writing is that he stopped writing with the lame excuse of dying Rest in peace Terry, you are sooo missed and sooo missing
Funny, that's always been my complaint against Tolstoy. Although with him, there is the added complication of every character having at lest five names, honorifics, and nicknames depending upon the relative rank and familiarity of the person addressing/discussing them. My copy of War and Peace had notes in the margins throughout from me trying to keep track of who was whom. I love how Death and Albert are utterly cowed by his mostly-human granddaughter.
I know what you mean about not knowing who's talking in a book! I'm currently reading one I LOVE, but there will be a few sentences describing one of the speaker's actions, then a space, and then someone says something in quotes and I can't tell if it's the same person who the last sentences were about, or if it has skipped to the other person involved in the conversation. Doing a fair amount of backtracking but only a few sentences...if I had to read it aloud I'd be lost without notes in the margins. Completely besotted with the story and author so not really a complaint, just a thing.
I so love this book
I love all the characters that keep popping up in this book!!

Twin Peaks is the show I haven't watched. I just went and googled the sign and I see what you mean about it being a nice pine tree design!

Almost live
Maybe Terry didn't expect someone to read the books aloud.
