Thank you for this video, I have a question. I have multiple utility bills that I pay every month and have setup these memorized transactions but the monthly amounts are different based on electricity usage. Is there a best practice for setting up recurring payments that aren't the same amount every month? Can you leave the amount blank and when it creates the transaction can it prompt you for the amount? Or is there another workaround? THANKS!

Unfortunately there's not a way to do this effectively with bills for varying amounts. You could memorize one then set a reminder in QB to update the bills each month.

@@QbuniversityOrg Yes, I do this. I get a reminder and then edit the bill when I know the currency exchange rate of a bill when it's paid.

Good Day Mat, you have very informative videos!!! I just discovered your TH-cam Channel and I am a beginner to QuickBooks. I have a few questions. I downloaded the 30 day free trial of QuickBooks Desktop 2020 on my lap top for the purpose of setting and mastering the program for a small business. Does that free software allow me to enter a fake business bank account? Secondly, how do I enter the make believe assets and liabilities,is it through the chart of accounts? Thirdly, do you currently have any videos or will you have any videos that cover the very beginning to end of a transaction? What I mean by that is a consistent one video with a start to end workflow in QuickBooks Desktop? Confusion often reins supreme especially when I am trying to MASTER something new!!! The pieces of the story get so scattered that I cannot put the story together to be useful to myself and others !! Does QuickBooks Desktop enter journal entries automatically? What is the deal with journal entries in QuickBooks, when are they done etc?Thank you and I am looking forward to a continued relationship. Best, Karen

Hey Karen! My guess is you can enter bank accounts, but I'm not sure you will be able to set up bank feeds. I would go to the chart of accounts to enter the asset and liability accounts. I do have a number of videos here that walk through start to finish on various transactions, just depending on what it is. I do have a paid program at qbuniversity.org that walks through start to finish on everything in QB, but you can find various videos here. As far as journal entries, yes, QB does the entries behind the scenes so to speak. Thanks!

I believe so. Just go to the make deposit screen and go to Edit to Memorize it

Regarding memorized invoices: when I say " NO" to the pop up box when it asks that I have memorized invoices to print, How can I print them later and process them in the " File, Print form" . It seems I only have one chance to say " YES" which does not seem correct :/. Thank you very much, this is driving me nuts !!!
