In California In & Out is not the best hamburger you can find. It might be the best of the chain restaurants, but the best burgers are flame-broiled at Mom & Pop places that have been around since the late 1950s until the mid-1970s. If there is a rusty tin roof covering the patio area, they have shredded lettuce, and you can taste the burgers a block away you are in the right place.
@@MICHAELSMITH-ys8ek The two of three most popular places that use shredded lettuce near me are my first choice. I drive past the spot that uses whole leaf.

Chick-fil-A franchises are VERY hard to get. That's probably why they're not in the UK yet. Unlike many fast-food places, Chick-fil-A only opens a restaurant (approves an applicant) after a lot of conversation and background. They want only the highest service, so you have to start with an active, knowledgeable, hands-on owner/manager. They then hire the best candidates for employment. You don't have the, "the manager isn't here today" if you have a complaint, or disinterested workers. It's almost impossible to get a franchise in the US, I can't imagine abroad. (The web says they get 60K people applying for a franchise each year, but only about 80 are accepted).
Here's a secret to getting a fresh burger every time. You'd and tell them to add to the burger or subtract from the burger. Example; add mayo or subtract pickles.
I used to do that at a McDonald's near LSU. They had a policy that if at lunch time you weren't served in one minute, your order was free! I would have them leave out the ketchup and mustard and substitute mayonnaise. That way I knew they wouldn't just remove something and would have to start from scratch. Finally, I went in one day, and they actually had one made exactly to my order. I think they had a really sharp asst.manager. I suppose I could have changed up my order again, but that wouldn't have been sporting, and besides, a regular burger was only ¢.30, and a cheeseburger was only five cents more. Hey, every penny counted back then! A pitcher of beer was $1.00 during happy hour at Dirty Pierre's, a local bar on Chime street, across from the University. I had to make sure I had enough for that!!!
Believe it or not, McDonald's fries used to be even better. For health reasons, they are no longer fried in the original way. The original method involved frying them in beef tallow [clarified and filtered beef fat]. Tallow gave the fries a flavor that simply CANNOT be equaled by vegetable oils.
Vegetable and seed oils are way way way worse for people's health than beef tallow. The only reason they changed to vegetable oil is because it's a lot cheaper, and cheaper certainly doesn't hint that it's better quality. In fact, there are plenty of studies that show vegetable and seed oils are linked to fatty liver disease, excess weight gain, and many other health problems. They might as well be considered poison in my opinion.
Hi Kabir, a taco shell is SUPPOSED to be crunchy! It's only in the last 40 years or so that the chain stores came out with soft ones. The way to eat one is to take your first bite out of the bottom, where the meat is, and immediately bite off the corresponding lettuce/tomato/sauce part on top, and chew them simultaneously. It's great! If they have burgers in heaven, the Baconator will be the one they serve. The mention of Col. Sanders brought back an old memory from a cartoon panel in Playboy Magazine. It showed two Drug Enforcement Officers busting Sanders, saying, "They finally found out what those 11 secret herbs and spices are!" I thought it was funny.

Inflation has really hit the fast food industry hard. The standard McDonald's hamburger patty has shrunk from 2.5 ounces to 1.5 ounces and the Whopper patty has gone from 6 ounces to 4 ounces in 4 years. Also the Whoppers bun went from 5 inches across to 4 inches.

I'd like to know what their doing to your Big Mac's over there cause where I live their still huge and one of my favorite McDonald's orders (without the pickles) when I don't just get their nuggets. I love Culver's ESPECIALLY their frozen custard! I loved KFC growing up and still love it when I go back to visit family but where I live now it's dry and nasty. I've been to In-n-Out once wasn't to thrilled with their fries but did think their burgers were pretty good however there still are a lot better burger places out there that my husband and I prefer so we haven't been back. I've never been to a Five Guys although their all over where I live I just haven't felt the urge to go to one before. I love Shake Shack but unfortunately don't have one close enough to me to make it worth my trip. They also have some wonderful shakes and frozen custards.
No no no. These are not the best. Taco Bell? Give me a break. Nobody who ate the original McDonald’s fries is impressed by what they serve today. Stick to the tots from Sonic. The Wendy’s chocolate frosty and DQ’s blizzard are really good. And Popeye’s chicken sandwich is in a class by itself. As for Chick-fil-a I like the sandwiches but I usually order either a salad or chicken strips. (Best salad is from Whataburger.) In n Out- meh. Very few burger chains are even edible. Whopper is tolerable, 5Guys burger is much better. Big Mac has never done it for me. Iconic because it is among the oldest & best established but was never as good as your local mom and pop burger.
The Popeye's chicken sandwich just tastes awful. Shouldn't be on the list. That said the Doritos tacos are absolutely amazing, healthy of course not. As for the crunch it's the same exact taco shell but with Dorito powder on it powder on it. I saw the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich is awful too. I find most chicken sandwiches at fast food to be Bland.
In California they raised the minimum wage for fast food employees to $20 per hour. So burgers that I paid $5-$6 per burger is now $10-$12 per burger. That's not counting fries and a drink. Now they are going more and more automated. So if the burger has a hint of hydrologic fluid you know why.
Mcdonalds fries are nasty. They aren't even real potatoes. They are reconstituted potato byproduct. Five guys, chick fil a, and freddys all do better fries.
No way chik-fil-a is better than Popeyes. I tried their sandwich and it's MASSIVELY overrated. I like 5 guys burgers, but their fries aren't even good. I've never tried a Big Mac.... but I don't like pickles.

I dislike 5 guys.. has upset my stomach each time I ate there.. Not fond of BK or Wendys either.. lol
Some of my favorite high speed diabetes delivery systems.
McDonald's fries were better when they still had beef fat in the deep fryer's oil. It's a shame that they caved to health activists' protests.
I find most chicken sandwiches at fast food to be Bland.
the secret to Chick Fil A chicken is it's brined in pickle juice.
If only the company wasn't supporting bigotry...
Burger King has better french fries than McDonalds (dont like BK for much but they do great fries).
Popeye's is WAY better than Chick-fil-A in every way.
In California they raised the minimum wage for fast food employees to $20 per hour. So burgers that I paid $5-$6 per burger is now $10-$12 per burger. That's not counting fries and a drink. Now they are going more and more automated. So if the burger has a hint of hydrologic fluid you know why.
Yeah I wouldn't blame minimum wage for that price hike. Not unless they only sell 4 or 5 burgers an hour.
@@TheMarkc614 It sure didn't help
@@George-ux6zz when your CEO makes $20 million a year, that doesn't help either. But no one seems to care about that.
In N Out burgers are all still under $5 in California
This may be on the top ten list of worst lists ever made.
Mcdonalds fries are nasty. They aren't even real potatoes. They are reconstituted potato byproduct. Five guys, chick fil a, and freddys all do better fries.
I think Chick-Fil-A is very overrated
No way chik-fil-a is better than Popeyes. I tried their sandwich and it's MASSIVELY overrated.
I like 5 guys burgers, but their fries aren't even good.
I've never tried a Big Mac.... but I don't like pickles.
Chix fila a is overrated
In n out so overrated mid at best
Popeyes is over rated
Personally really don’t like Doritos or hard shell tacos. Soft shell tacos are the best at taco bell
