I'd be interested to know how they create the drills that makeup the halftime show, the hours of practice involved, and what happens if there is a mistake. And in the pre step off commands and responses from each section. each show appears to begin with preparation drills and team verbal coordination. I've been watching the band since the 60"s. My brother graduated in '69 and my uncle in '39. Our house still echoes the War Hymn.. nice video.. take care and God Bless
Senior year in the Corps, one of my best friends was the Head Drum Major. His major was Agricultural Engineering. We were taking the same Cost Accounting class, and I visited him in his Band Dorm 11 room one Sunday night to go over some problems we'd been assigned. On his desk were several graph-paper diagrams. This sounds stupid now, but, knowing his major, I immediately thought they were diagrams for plowing a farm field preparatory to planting crops. Well, no, it was the plan for the following Saturday's halftime performance drill. The first step, proper planning to prevent poor performance.
Fantastic video of the halftime performance. I finally got my wish that there would be an overall view of the field along with on the field shots thrown in. Especially starting at the 18:12 mark. 😃
Good bull, David!
Great video! A-Batt C/O 2003; Gig'em

Agreed. 'Would love to see a video on how the band is taught a new drill. Also, how is the drill created?

@@dandaniel439 Pre-dawn perspiration is a major contributor to their halftime-performance magnificence.

Is the four step counter march in the US Army Manual of Drill?
It is not, It is something unique to the Aggie band. There is an Aggie band marching manual online somewhere if you want to learn it
