This song is actually quite sad. This song is about a guy trying to rekindle his relationship and start over with someone because he has changed and matured. But second guesses himself because he does not know what the future holds hence "Maybe I'm better off that way".

^ only espo really goes by espo pretty often, jake nathan and whistler don’t really go by their nicknames anymore. nathan goes by brother kenzie more and whistler goes by whistler isaiah inside of whistler allen, jake just goes by jake but he still uses turntan.
