So I use to know Don when he first started out with his cover band Airborne. He didnt sing much , he was a really great guitar player. So here we are 50 years later, and some people dont like the way he sounds. What an incredible job hes doing. It was a long road to get here, and I thank him for taking the time to entertain us all yet again
I had my whole neck fused front and back and had total thyroidectomy due to cancer. My vocal chords are held together with staples now. Lost my high range in my voice. I could see the pain he is in when he sings because I feel it too. However I have a different way of doing it. I retune the band down to my vocal range without having to go a full octave down. I do have some belting range left. Don has more belting range than I do so I could help him. I wish I could help him actually.
@@chrisw5742the problem with don he always keep on pushing and pushing his voice, instead of going to a vocal coach or something and training it , i mean bon jovi did, and his condition is way worst than don
@@nahuel2201 I told him on his fb page to retune the music down to his present vocal range. Not sing down a full octave. The pitch sounds off to the music.
Thanks for this video. I believe Don is doing his best. At least, it’s real and NOT back round tapes. Jon Levin and the rest of the band sound awesome!🎶
Between don dokken Jon Bon Jovi and Vince Neil I really wish they would all retire because I wanna remember them as they once were and not like this!!!
I couldn't agree more. I actually get depressed seeing this. Some old hair metal bands members look and sound great. Unfortunately, Don's not one of those.
I saw Guns and Roses, Aerosmith at Fenway Park in Boston last summer, it's tough to see, ironically Axl & Tyler had two of the greatest ranges of any rock vocalist, I guess I'm saying getting old just sucks
His band still sounds solid but poor Don has diminished vocals. I loved Dokken in the 80 's. With Don's life style he is very lucky to still be on this planet. Singers need to know when to say goodbye, Don you made your mark but please say goodbye to the rock snd roll world.
@zlefmusic thanks. I lived in the region 30 years ago so I'm sure there are many new venues in the area. I tried to figure the location out by the surroundings, but I couldn't put it together, and now I know why.
Dokken is my favorite hair band from the 80s mostly because of George but Don was phenomenal back in the day. He clearly no longer has it he should stop and enjoy the rest of his life. He has stated in interviews he doesn't need the money.
The whole hair metal band term is so ridiculous, like wtf is hair metal a band with long hair? So Metallica and megadeth would be considered hair metal bands as well. What’s next Bald Metal? Every metal band who’s bald
Can't believe I have to explain this but they are bands that had the glam look and some bands like lets say Tesla got thrown in because of the era when they were really just a hard rock band. Hair Metal is just a look big hair some makeup and maybe some feminine clothing. It was done to soften the image to appeal to women. I'm guessing you weren't alive for the scene but it was the only time when a large quantity of women loved a form of hard rock and metal. Women who usually only listened to pop music were actually listening to these bands too.
Dude went through a round of stomach cancer, vocal surgery and a botched operation and he gets trashed by internet warriors at the keyboard at all his live videos. Sounds far better in 2023s Heaven Comes Down than in 2010s Broken Bones and in some areas the grotesquely overrated 2008 Lightening Strikes Again. Even the Lost Songs album he sounds great with the autofi mixing.
Im thinking Don is around mid 70s today. The horse is not dead, it just doesnt jump as high as it once did. But its still a fine horse and to saddle it up and ride sometimes still brings a lot of people pleasure.
Blame the surgeon for his paralysis... that wasn't Don's fault. Nor was it his fault when a dog literally tried to chew off his face. Put the blame where its due..
This guy has good pitch but totally sucks. I hate that whisper delivery that he's always done. Everyone on the stage is a better singer than the singer. But at least there's the energy! LOL

@@chrisw5742 it would be better, His voice sounds better in songs like saving Grace or fugitive
Don looks like he would rather be anywhere else on earth.
😆Guess hes broke like most of them
The crowd too😂
Like 6 ft under
I still have a lot of respect for Don Dokken.

Well said!
He can't do it no more
Thanks for highlights
No problem!
what highlights?this was brutal!!!

Dokken used to open for the biggest bands, they were good, but never got full recognition.
The greatest band ever and singer. Just a lot of energy on stage. Don needs to slow down a little
I was thinking the exact same thing. He needs to slow it down, just a little, or he’s gonna be completely out of breath by the middle of the show
if he slows down anymore,he should go to sleep!!!
Only a few people watched the concert 😇😇😊
Thanks so much for this awesome video !!!!
No problem!
Súper, aguante Dokken.
🤘🖤🤘
Was that Don Dokken or Joe Biden?
Can’t believe I missed this
lol,i can!!its bad
Why even bother
They need a new singer
Looks like Joe Biden is the front man for a tribute band.
Hahahahahaha

I will contribute to a Gofund Me, that will finance Don's retirement and gets him off the stage.
Not one of these songs was written by Jon Levin , his best stuff never gets played going back to 2008 when he wrote lightning strikes again
They played “Fugitive” and “Saving Grace” off of the latest album.
I can't stand George Lynch's cover of Lightning Strikes Again
Absolute filth
He's not enthusiastic cuz it's a free concert LOL
Where in Albany is this?
Jenning’s Landing near I787 down by the river.

That ain’t dokken. That’s the don dokken band
Sorry but it seems that Don can't sing the high notes anymore...his bass player is helping him with that. Otherwise the band sounds solid.
Just the high notes? Father Time is undefeated. 😢
He's still one of my favorites we all can't perform like the old days but he still has his voice
Still has his voice😂
lol
Jeff Myszynski approves of this video.
who?
Jeff Myszynski from New Baltimore Michigan.
consumption of jiz has damaged his throat

No way Judas priest, Iron Maiden, Cinderella ,Scorpions..way better other ones!
@wilE6764 the only one of those 4 that are a hair metal band is Cinderella and LeBar is nowhere near Lynch's league
@Tony-xb1hu Heavy metal was the same is hair bands..Van Halen, Aerosmith too..all had long hair lol

Sounds like a solid rockin band🤟

Sorry, but this ain’t Dokken, not even close

Omg just retired already Don
that lead singer looks like he's 80 I wonder if they played my fav song floggin a dead horse.

Damn Don's really f'ed up with his health. His right arm is basically paralyzed and his voice has long since gone. Not just the high notes.
Blame the surgeon for his paralysis... that wasn't Don's fault. Nor was it his fault when a dog literally tried to chew off his face. Put the blame where its due..
LOVE DOKKEN BUT THIS IS NOT GOOD.🤘💀🤘FANS ARE WORRYING ABOUT THIS AND JUST DO THE RETIREMENT STUFF AND GIVE UP .
omg...😆😅🤣😂😜🤪😝That is beyond terrible...
sadly he cant sing
was this a free show???this was brutal show to watch.dons voice is horrible and the band is sad as well!!!looks and sounds like a bar band at best!!!!
What kind of stupid lame drum kit is that?? Sheesh I had double that kit when I was 8!
Bigger doesn't mean better sometimes, just saying. Where have i heard that before.. 🤔😂
This guy has good pitch but totally sucks. I hate that whisper delivery that he's always done. Everyone on the stage is a better singer than the singer. But at least there's the energy! LOL
this is not dokken. It's a shit show. Dons ok the rest gotta go though
THIS SUCKS ITS BAD
DON, PLEASE, YOU ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE BAND,. THEY ARE READY TO RALPH/PUKE, LOVE YA BRO, BUT GO HOME PLEASE,..
What a joke. This is dokken ha ha ha ha I'll stay home and save money.instead of this crap.
