Very good review there. Have been a user with Samsung for 2 generations - S2 & S3, I feel like hopping over to HTC One for a fresh start. Although there are build issues like gaps and insensitive Back button, perhaps later batches of HTC One will have these issues resolved.

Its very Hard to pick btwn the two,but i have to give credit to HTC there latest flagship shows that they did learn frm the One X somewhat discouraging public reception.. Its a revolution n a step in the ryt direction.
Honestly i would b very Happy if either S.phone fell on my Lap :-)

The color is indeed off in that shot, but 1) that's not typical, and 2) the wide-angle lens more than makes up for it for the purposes an FFC is most often used for (self portraits and video calls).
You're right, though; we shouldn't have used that particular example in this vid, as the color reproduction is quite rough. ^MF
Will there be a HTC One+ comin' late this year? What do you guys think?
My only complains on the HTC One are the lock button placement and the htc logo below should be the home button while the home button itself should be the multitask button. That'll be perfect.

Which phone will stand the test of time? Im thinking S4 because if I'm going with a two year contract i want the one that qill get more future updates, and HTC has dissapointed me with the One S, while the S2 is still being supported
I don't understand why reviewers always try to be little biased towards htc, even though htc doesn't excel in any feature or spec compared to samsung.When speaking about Samsung you tend to be dull/modest and don't highlight some great features that actually work and isn't a gimmick and while talking about htc you try to be excited even though there isn't anything new! This is the case with many reviewers.

Decisions: HTC layout seems easier, feels smaller (but not too small) and looks sexier
are both phones equal in terms of call reception? It sounds like calls can be heard better on the HTC
The front facing camera picture looks really sharp and crisp, unlike the S3 camera that "looked" sharp when viewing it on the preview but when you actually took the shot it was blurred and less sharpened which I hate so much.

I would like to know in regards to the audio volume from headphone output of the htc one is it as loud as a iphone? I have a iphone 5 and when I transferred my music to it the volume is much lower

I work in a Walgreens photo lab, I looked over the photo comparisons several times, and from a printing POV, the HTC has a definate advantage. Yes, the GS4 has more MP, but on a regular basis most people print 4x6's & the largest they do is 8x10's. 4MP is fine for that. The biggest issue people have now is ASPECT RATIO. If what you send doesn't fit a 2:3 or 3:2 ratio, you'll lose something when printing a 4x6. HTC's wider angle lense gives you more shot to lose without losing so much subject.
How much of the htc one's internal storage is usable is all i wanna know

With the GS4, I don't like that you have to select between all of those modes ahead of time - how will you know you need eraser mode ahead of time? I would rather just turn on Zoe, and choose my retouch option later.

I went into this review think the HTC one would be the one for me. But after watching this its clear the S4 is the phone I would go with. Now Im just waiting on what Motorola has to offer in the next few months, the X phone and I really hope a droid 5 and a AT&T vairrent of it ( I would kill for a droid 5 with a side slider out keyboard) . I've had the HTC One for a little over a week now and I have zero complaints...it's absolutely awesome. Battery life is fantastic and it feels/looks amazing!

those are gunnar optic glasses, they are for gaming it reduces glare and brings up the contrast
i went to a retail AT&T store and played with both the GS4 and the HTC One. After holding the GS4, since i own a GS3, i was so impressed with it. i Put the GS4 down and went to go try out the HTC One and was far more impressed in the build quality and the New Sense UI. Now i am just waiting until the HTC One or a variant of it gets released on my carrier to buy it.
I love my HTC One, the build quality is superb and as you pointed out it sound is amazing!

Racked my brain on which one to get. I already have an S3 since launch and it has been a great device. The sound on the one is great. Build quality really is a non issue for me since I use a case and actually prefer lighter phones so they don't feel like a weight in pocket. Both are beats but i went with the S4... Cant really go wrong with either!

I had the 32gb Htc One for a few days, but decided to order a 64gb Htc One, can't wait till it gets here.
Both phones ate amazing don't know which one to choose.

I've used the HTC for the past year, and I've recently got the Galaxy a month ago, both have their advantages and disadvantages.
I love HTC's speakers, which don't make it LOUDER than the S4, but rather clearer and more dynamic. I also (of course) prefer the aluminum build to plastic, but I keep a cover on all my phones, so really, plastic isn't a deal breaker. Sense 5 is smoother and faster than the laggy TouchWiz. And I personally prefer LCD screens to Amoled.
Now, for the Galaxy. I love some of Samsung's features. Air gesture really comes in handy (pun intended) when I need to move the content on my phone's screen without touching it (if my fingers are dirty or stained with something). Voice control is also amazing, I can answer calls, take photos, dismiss alarms etc simply by speaking to my phone as opposed to touching it. The expandable memory and replaceable battery on the S4 is awesome too.
In the end, both are great phones, you'll be happy with either.

The one thing I really don't like on the one is the home button is on the right.. I'm getting my upgrade in a month and I'm torn between the two!

For me it was LCD3 vs Amoled in the end. I picked the One because of the screen and premium feel. Although I would have liked the darks on the s4, just couldn't deal with a phone that felt cheap
How can htc win versus samsung if up to now they cant make the wifi direct work on htc one x. I know coz i own a freakin htc one x and htc cust service told me that they still dont have the update to make it work. Already pre-ordered my S4.

I looovvee how fair this review was. Thanks a lot. It's really hard to try to find one that's not biased. BTW I'm typing from my HTC One that I got the 18th at my porche ;) and to be honest. It's incredibly beautiful. Literally, everytime I take it out of my pocket it feels like I'm holding and taking out such premium phone that people ask me what phone I have. Because it's so sexy.

This is the first review I've seen or read that's admitted that TouchWiz is cartoonish and the S4's features are a bit gimmick-y; and I'm glad you did. This solidified in my mind that the One is the better choice because it seems that the UI is more refined and mature.
I really want a Samsung galaxy S4 combined with a HTC one design and launcher and sgs4 features! But technically I want the HTC one but my contact isn't up yet hope they will have a One plus (+) like the One X + and maybe have a micro SD card slot, I will wait for the note 3 or HTC one plus, please impress me HTC this November!
You are correct, I was going to buy a Iphone 5 but after seeing the HTC One, Ill be getting that Instead and I have been an Iphone customer since the first generation Iphone came out.
