This video was exactly how a 'how-to' video should be. Simple, short, and to the point....and you saved me 100 bucks from the dealer..so thanks! -Travis
I just declined the air filter change fr Honda service today right after they did wheel rotation & oil changed of my Accord. Instead, I just bought the new filter & replaced the old air filter after I watched your video. Thank you very much! saved $40.
Great video. I'm at Midas for an oil change and tire rotation. They said $40 and I said no thx and immediately thought of going on TH-cam. Easy tutorial. Thanks.
Honda wanted me to pay $120 today to replace this. I told them no. So I TH-cam it and I’m so glad your video popped up. They also tried to charge me $100 just to look at my car because I told them my transmission was acting up. Say what???? $100 just to look at it? No thank you
Wanted to say thanks so much for this. They were trying to charge me 135 for the cabin and air filter. Crazy how overly simple this was, and saved over $90 in the process.
Garden State Honda asked around 100 something for air and cabin filter. I changed air filter around 20 I tought I changed cabin filter lol. Now it is 25 reminder showed up. Last time it was making squeaking noise then it stopped. Thanks for video.
Thanks for the refresher. Have changed in the past. Also another source is Rock Auto. Just purchased carbon filter. Was not much more. Very good pricing on OEM and other models carried. Thanks again for the refresher course
Super cool little video! Explained perfectly. The 26 dumbasses who gave thumbs down were the people who expected u to go over and install it personally 4 them. Thx!
That was ridiculously easy, took me longer to unload my glove box than to change the filter. My filter cost $14. My dealer tried to get me to let them replace it for $120. I don't think that I trust them now because if they will try to charge me $120 for a $10 part (their cost) and 5 minutes labor, what will they try to do to me on something major?
Thank you very much. I am glad I check your video before taking my car to the dealer for service. This saves me some money. Once again, thank you very much.
Took 3 minutes , but 6 minutes more was watch the video and unload glovebox, more A/C airflow now. I do engine airfilter too, also 3 min on honda accord. Both every 15,000 miles but i recommend check more often if oily road and smoke. I get real oem parts mostly.
Car modz thx for the video. In terms of power steering and brake fluids, mine are near the min line on my 14 accord. Can I easily and cheaply replenish them myself or do you rec having it serviced? Thx again.
Please send me picture to diycarmodify@gmail.com You can service them yourself, however there shouldn't be a power steering fluid reservoir on the 9thgenaccord since it is electronic power assist.
Thanks for these videos. This stuff takes like a minute to change out, a good quality filter itself is like $15, dealer wants $50-$150 to change it...ridiculous.
+Hien Nguyen I'm a OEM part junkie so I always try to use OEM parts. However, I see no difference in using any aftermarket filter. I have a list of aftermarket filters listed on the description on this video. You should be find them at your local auto store.
Killer, I just saved like $50. There were a lot of dried weeds/doodads on my filter plus suspended in the cabin filter compartment. Is there a way to get rid of it?
nice video, just paid Honda to do it for me. They actually charged me $22.00 for filter, along with $20.00 labor charge.Next time I will change myself. thanks! KJ
Thank you for posting this! I leased my Honda so my caregiver could use it for my kids- I had to fire her for smoking in the car (!) so now I'm left with a smelly car. I know there's probably smoke smell in the fabric, but I'm praying that the air filter will help tremendously, since now I have to SELL the car. *sigh Any other suggestions on removing the smoke smell inexpensively?
Best way to get rid of the smoke smell would be to do a full interior steam detailing and run an ozone generator overnight. But since you're going to be selingl the vehicle, I would just buy a can of this amzn.to/2bDYt1y or try using a box of arm and hammer.
+trystan guthrie The vents smell because of mildew/bacteria in the evap core. This is a very common problem. One of the remedies to fix this issue is to change out the cabin air filter. But just changing out the filter will not fix the issue. You can try running the heater on full blast for 5-10min and that might help kill off the bacteria / mold smell. The cause of this issue is when people run their A/C on the recirculation mode all of the time, or the drain gets clogged. It is recommended only to use recirculation mode only to cool down the car quickly but once the car is cooled switch it to outside air. Or before a few blocks from your final destination turn off the AC and just run the air on full blast to dry out the AC system.
Jessta G That is correct. If you read the description, I listed every single replacement filter available for this car. I'm just a OEM junkie so I try to buy genuine honda parts, even a screw or bolt or washer.
+Alex Gomez I purchased mine from www.collegehillshonda.com/. You can pick it up from any Honda dealership from their parts department. The part number is: 80292-SWA-A01
You can still go back and complain about it. I definitely will if i was in your my situation. Make sure to show this video clip.stealerships are rip off.
+taylor williams Someone has to pay for the "free" coffee/wifi/snacks that the dealership puts out for the customers. It just happens, You and I are not going to be those someone.
This video was exactly how a 'how-to' video should be. Simple, short, and to the point....and you saved me 100 bucks from the dealer..so thanks!

Wanted to say thanks so much for this. They were trying to charge me 135 for the cabin and air filter. Crazy how overly simple this was, and saved over $90 in the process.
Exactly. For that amount, you can purchase multiple filters for the life of your vehicle.
Garden State Honda asked around 100 something for air and cabin filter. I changed air filter around 20 I tought I changed cabin filter lol. Now it is 25 reminder showed up. Last time it was making squeaking noise then it stopped. Thanks for video.
Thanks for the video man beats the dealer outrageous charge.
Thanks for posting this. I opened the box to put in my new filter after watching this, and there were instructions inside detailing how to replace it.
Thanks for the video. You saved me about $70. I appreciate it.
Thanks. Very informative and easy to follow. Took me about 8 or 10 minutes to do both cabin and engine air filters and saved me about $45
+kirk22221 Congrats on replacing the filters. Very easy to do right. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for the refresher. Have changed in the past. Also another source is Rock Auto. Just purchased carbon filter. Was not much more. Very good pricing on OEM and other models carried. Thanks again for the refresher course

Excellent instructions. I'm glad to know that when I reach 95, I'll still be able to change this. :)
Thanks much! I did this once before but needed a reminder! Saved me about $75! From dealer quote.

How often do you recommend the cabin filter is replaced? I'm currently at 29k miles with my 2015 Honda Accord.
Honda recommends changing the cabin filter every 15k miles. I change mine once a year.

What do you think of carbon activated filters?
I now use whatever filter is on sale on Amazon. It usually is the Fram Filters with carbon in them.

$75 to change a cabin filter? WOW,only cost me 20$ to change the cabin filter i my 2014 camry.
Be careful. The tabs are easy to break off. I should have watched more carefully for proper technique.
