Physical size limitations, pixel size and backlighting arrays could certainly incur a lot of compromise on the smaller TV. I am not sure it is possible to generalise across the whole size range.
You're right It's not. the Q60 and Q70 series is their budget QLED series. The hardware alone is vastly different. The Q60D is still using the same 1st gen 4k AI processor and it's the lite version on top of that. Their new QN98 series is on the latest 3rd Gen 4k AI processor. Not to mention the panels are diff the Q60D still uses a VA panel and has no local dimming. Those are just three examples out of many how the QN98 series is vastly better than the Q60 series.

The Samsung does not provide the exact brightness numbers but can we guess the same using the power consumption details? I noticed that the higher end models uses more power

I was able to get this for $350 directly from Samsung using my employee discount which is much more reasonable. It’s the only 4K 32inch TV you can buy and it’s about the only one with decent quality. I know 32inch monitors might be the way to go but for media viewing it’s better to just buy a TV. It is wild how this TV is essentially the same TV since the Q60 series inception.

I don't know If I'm being swayed by all the mediocre reviews of this tv and the edge lighting but I don't like the picture. Its either too dark or too bright or there is a green tint. Tried all kinds of settings. My 10 year old samsung LED 32 inch looks more natural. Perhaps I'm used to it. This new Qled model's picture seems to look different on every type of program. Would I be better getting a really good older model of some brand...if there is one?
Just purchased yesterday. I updated the software right away and it went perfectly. I like this 43" model very much. Live TV off my antenna viewing the Olympics is outstanding. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the tiny, minimal design remote. It would be perfect for a small child, if they could understand it!
