    I love that guitar tone. So when it's an electro acoustic but with a pick up under strings instead of a mic, is there another name for that type of electro acoustic? Because it sounds more electric than acoustic, if that makes sense! Great performance by the way.

    • @leejohnblackmoremusic
      @leejohnblackmoremusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      A pickup is a type of microphone just not one with a diaphragm, any acoustic that can be amplified is called an electro-acoustic. 👍🎸

      I loved the film and was all set to hate the TV series thinking it would be one of those things Americans couldn't leave well alone but it's so good. Then again, Matt Berry can do no wrong in my eyes

    • @neilparnell5712
      @neilparnell5712 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@marshaklein8425 Helps that the TV series was made by the film makers, so they got to expand on the time limitations of the film and go some new places. Have watched the film and all series and they were incredible. The TV cast was inspired - Matt Berry is epic and Kayvan bounces off him superbly.
      This song was written for WWDITS, Norma just didn't know it at the time !

    • @marshaklein8425
      @marshaklein8425 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@neilparnell5712 If only that happened every time. I sometimes wonder if it's some cultural difference when it comes to humour. The excellent and very long running UK show, "Red Dwarf" is a good example. There have been two pilots made in Àmerica and they are equally dreadful. The characters just aren't right. It's as if the makers realised that American viewers wouldn't "get" the original deeply flawed, brilliantly written characters so they sanitised them. There's also the fact that the original is superbly well cast. Another example is another favourite of mine, Australian show "Kath&Kim". An American remake got two seasons, god alone knows how. The first episode is almost word for word the Australian original but it just doesn't work. It really needs Jane Turner and Gina Riley who both wrote and starred in it. It says a lot that one character is completely missing in the remake, and not a side character, a major character, Sharon. The character was developed by actress . Magda Szubanski who played Sharon and she refused to let the American remake use her character because she knew the Americans would screw it up. I once heard American sitcoms being called "thinly veiled morality plays" and I agree. British sitcoms don't work that way. There was talk of an American remake of "Absolutely Fabulous" but they wanted to change the character of Patsy. No longer could she constantly swill Bollinger champagne and pop pills. No actress could compare to Dame Joanna Lumley who played her.

    • @neilparnell5712
      @neilparnell5712 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@marshaklein8425 It's very simple really for me, if you are not going to do it justice and / or take the idea further then be respectful and leave it well alone. It is just lazy TV / film making to constantly just rehash or full on copy successful shows / films instead of taking risks with new projects. It is counterproductive and all you end up with is derivative and substandard viewing.
      WWDITS shows how good American TV and Film can be if it puts the effort in with original ideas and writers.
