It was even better when it came out days before the anniversary gala. It seemed the whole world read the book and the neglectful family had no where to hide. Sweet, sweet karama and justice.
Gabriella had every right to write the book, and the family deserved what was in it. What is the most telling is how siblings (Marlo and Trey) shows how they were so deserved it all. Pasley really grew up faster than she should, but it is deserved. They knew it is the truth., and the only mercy she gave them was not making them do interviews. Yes, that was because she didn't want them the shot at "controlling the narrative". "You've always been too sensitive".. the most used line of gaslighting toxic narcissists. The fact that so many people turned on the entire family so quickly proved what the book said is the truth. However, the mother was the one who really need the book, because it was a mirror of HER!
As someone who’s seen a lot of family dynamics over the years, I understand why Gabriella did what she did. Sometimes, a mirror is exactly what people need to see themselves clearly. 🌟 But I hope she finds peace now-it’s hard to carry so much pain
The art of invisibilty... If you stand still, they can't see you. If you wave your hand in front of your face, they can't see you. Do both and its twice the power.
Imagine ignoring only one member of your family on purpose. The dad is an absolute loser. He witnessed his 16 yo child's heart break and decided it's okey to not even wish her a happy birthday. Absolutely horrible.
And that was on her 16th birthday. She's 48 yrs old now and hasn't been celebrated, by her words, in 28-30 years while her siblings get big to do parties. Honestly, I would have lost my mind way before this point. Disgusting behavior for parents! There's no way I would allow a spouse to dictate whether I prioritize my child on their birthday.
Your feelings are completely valid. Being forgotten on your special day must be incredibly hurtful. Choosing to forget their anniversary surprise might be your way of setting boundaries and making them understand how you feel. I hope this opens up a conversation and leads to better mutual understanding in the future. Stay strong!
Omg I’m blown away you have no idea how many people can relate to this story it was so hard to keep from crying hysterically my story not as deep but just as invisible thank you ❤
I think it’s different. Sometimes you need your pride and ego shattered in order to understand your mistakes. I think the book pulled away the curtain and let the family finally realize their mistakes, and how normalized it had become.
@@wingwhacker I don't think so... if they really care they would care even slightest form... them? no. they never loved... she's the afterthought after afterthought... also they've read it too, what was their first reaction? is it to say sorry to her? no. they got mad because their facade was exposed to the world...
I know this is mostly fictional (AI scrapes thru million of Reddit and social media posts and websites to put together these stories) but it still feels like it could've happened on some level. I feel bad for OP.
I don't think of these stories as fake because they can be happening in any household across the world. It's not unbelievable that families ignore some of their family members every day. It's just a sad realization that people can be callous as to ignore their children/siblings and what they try to achieve in their lives. Why are some children put on pedestals, while others are treated like Cinderella? Everyone deserves to be loved equally!
This was an excellent story. I love that lessons learned helped people to grow. , and to see what mistakes were made. The book did not destroy the family, it actually built a family. It healed them and put the daughter’s broken heart back together.
i broke when her father started talking this is the first time that i actually cried this week the ignoring is quite common, how funny for a fictional story..
It may be fictional, but I love the dad for being the realest one at the table. He knew he had no defence worth mentioning, so he simply asked for the potatoes lmao 🤣🤣 i
The fact that so many family members DID see… dad got her a bracelet 30 yrs prior, never gave it to her, but kept it. They didn’t forget, they intentionally snubbed her. It written like these are signs of growth, but… they are signs of malice instead of neglect. I think in her place, I’d pretend everything was fine, get the guest list, sign a book for each person, shipped to the same addresses the invitations went to, timed to arrive the day after the party. Then blindside everyone with a scathing speech, drop Mike, walk off like a boss. After 30 years of being snubbed, I don’t understand why she’d even WANT that family in her life, much less why she’d put in effort towards reconciliation. “You had 30 years to make things right. The only reason you’re even trying now is because I stopped pretending it was right. And don’t come at me about airing the family’s drama in public. You were happy to parade your family myths in public. You got reporters to do fluff pieces about us. If you can lie about us in public, I can tell the truth in public.”
I know this is fake but the line where she says that her gift was _6 months late and a regift from the book club._ Hit me, my birthday is Christmas Day and all gifts ALWAYS end up being pink and red or green and gold. Mugs, candles, themed plushies, notepads, bath items and of course $20 gift cards. People really do suck when your birthday is around a widely celebrated holiday.
I am Gabriella. I wish i could have written a book but in my situation, It would not have made a difference like in the story. 48 years of feeling... Not heard, not seen, feeling like a burden and like I didn't matter. Oh well, life goes on right?
*Memoir wars are real* if someone disagrees with your memoir they are allowed to write their own from their point of view after all everyone's a witness
The real problem is that these people never see themselves in the descriptions, and they'll deny that these things ever took place. You may think you've stopped their saying you're controlling and/or overreacting, but they'll continue in their myopic way denying it in the face of the truth, ever if you had videos or sworn affidavits. Better to write them off and go live your best life.
frankly I don't think a bunch of strangers all over the world or even in a country club would care about this first world rich family drama. Sounds like the kind of book that nobody buys so the writer buys it in bulk to pretend that it's selling well. People are dying, Kim.

somebody should train their AI to write stories where they don't lay it on thicker than the evil stepmom from cinderella.. these blubbering melodramas are becoming more laughable by the day

What a good story. I wonder how may stories like this happen every day?

What a beautiful story that highlights self reflection! Well done.
I empathize with the OP. It can take decades to break away from narcissistic abuse.
The champagne glasses were abandoned because they had ice in them.

i'd pick my birthday to be forgotten over getting treated like trash and the only gifts peolpe would get me was stuff i was allergic to even the cake
A fictional story but surprisingly so many people relate to it
Ice in champagne glasses? Barbarians!
Good story but your visual is very agitating.
If they don't love you block them!!!
Turn and walk away! Just give them what they give you! No respect don't respect them!
Beautiful story❤
This was an awesome story. Got me right in the feels! 😢I’d give anything to have my crazy family with me. 💗
They can't expect you to care when they never did 🎂
Omg this was amazing it should be turned into a movie
And the name of that daughter...? Gabriela Einstein. Then all the guests stood up and applauded.
Fake, the daughter would not ask, "Is that your grandparents anniversary?", to the mother's parents.
Everything's fake man you are stupid to believe
How does a mother forget their offsprings' birthday?
well, maybe this story could possibly be adapted into a series or film, and that would be a great idea.
Interesting Story ❤👍
Glad you enjoyed it
