- The "SUMSEI Terrarium". SUMSEI, based in Seoul, South Korea, was showcased at CES. Their philosophy being, "Nature, Anytime Anywhere". The "Terrarium" exhibit was immersive, with visitors (myself included) removing their shoes and socks before entering.
Inspired by nature, the exhibit embodied three distinct spaces:
A "Cave", creating an environment where vision is obscured, and light is emitted by several candle warmers. The ground was covered with smooth, black stones, upon which we tread, as each of us made our way through.
The "Sea", immersing visitors in a realistic experience of a sandy beach and the sea beyond. We were actually walking barefoot upon sand while a large screen displayed a scene of a beach.
The "Forest", featuring a nearly 20-foot-high realistic tree surrounded by various foliage. We could hear the sounds of birds and other wildlife as we passed through the hanging branches.
The SUMSEI Terrarium marks Korea's experiential exhibition into a space designed to gradually envelop visitors in a sensory journey through nature.
That one room is still better than last year's Willy Wonka experience. 😅
@@NealBauer I also have an ambitious idea for my next upload. I still have loads of raw footage, and much of it cannot be edited into single vids, so I'm in the process of editing another clipshow one.
I know it's supposed to be peaceful but for some reason, the hallway gave me horror film/game vibes
@@ArkOfTheShadow Probably because of the darkness, and enclosed space. It really was like exploring a cave, or abandoned mine.
Much of it was the sensory experience... feeling the pebbles and sand beneath your feet, hearing the sounds of waves crashing upon the shore and the birds twittering, and becoming lost for a moment... hoping that it was all real.
