I've been marking these on my map as I find them because I couldn't figure out what to do with them. I tried to interact, throw a Pokémon out, and throw a ball out and none of it worked. Now it appears I just missed with my previous poke ball throws.
Unknown W was my favorite to find, I was up there taking a screenshot with mt. Coronet and then walked to the other side and I was like “huh… those are some weird eyes…” it took me a second to realize it was an unknown

Thank you for the list. For anyone begoing through this I can confirm that O can be caught with a normal pokeball (just done it first try) but feather ball as mentioned is much easier.
This whole Unown catching has been a great experience to me. The first one I randomly found (and I wasn't even trying to find anyone at that moment) was Unown D, which is my (name's first) letter! After that, I started reading the clues out loud ans scared my sister 'cause she couldn't understand those letters
These guides are so helpful! I've beaten the main story and I'm trying to 100% the game (full dex, ideally to lv. 10, and all quests) so this is super helpful!

This was the final side quest I had before completing my Pokedex, thanks so much for always providing such quality and entertaining content! My favorite thing is how you sometimes talk to the pokemon like they can hear you. "Hey there Clefairy's, wanna come along? No? Well ok then..." It's the best. (I know I do it too haha.)
12:00 I already have all the Unown. I'm literally just watching this because I like how Austin John Plays does his videos and I want to support him. I have beaten the Post-Game and am working on "Catching 'em all" like I "gotta" and I had no idea about that door. I almost can't believe I learned something new in this video. I just tried hitting the W with a jet ball and it eventually worked.
I got all the unown without the help of a guide. Felt pretty good to do a quest like this without the Internet. I’m also trying to do the wisps without a guide too, but that’s harder. I’m at 98/107 so I’m close. If I give up I’ll be sure to watch your videos on the ones I missed Got all the wisps! I feel like I rely on the Internet too much for video games nowadays so it was satisfying completing this quest. Good thing there’s not 900 of them like in botw
Best game design for collectables since everything. You start with all the hints and no need for random backtracking for a missing boi. I highly recommend not watching this video just for the joy. Sorry Austin John!
Me too! Unown is my favorite pokemon I was delighted to see them have their own special part of the game. I'm not done finding them yet so I'm just skipping to the part about alphas and shinies for now :)
As I was following your guide, I'd use my shiny Garchomp to mine ore and other things, and when I'd let him out, the shiny noise would ring thinking "yesss got myself another shiny somewhere around here" I'd literally be searching for half an hour before giving up....turns out it was my own shiny making the noise...never felt so dumb in my life
Very helpful. Although when I saw that question mark Unown dangling behind the clothes line of the house I burst out laughing at that. It clearly had 0 fricks to give as it was just chilling there. XD
Ayo Austin, I found your content when I started playing Pokemon Arceus. I got to say your guides are far better than any of the other ones I've found on youtube. For example, I tried IGNs Alabaster Icelands Wisp guide because I didn't want to wait for your video. Man was that a mistake. That video is trash. I really appreciate all the work you put into these man.
I had no idea there were hints for their locations in the pokedex until I had spent 12 hours hunting them down blind. I found 25/28 of them looking in every corner of every map. Once I discovered there were hints I got the last three in fifteen minutes. Ahhhh

Only thing I could find that looks like a message is "Gerl is bad!?" which is in the top row and the majority of the second row. The rest is either your collection of Unown or it's a long and hard anagram.

The Unown at 8:30 can be caught without a Feather Ball if you aim the ball upwards to account for gravity altering the trajectory. I did this one myself just now with a Great Ball.
I don't know why every youtuber decides to make their Unown location guide based on their alphabetical order over just going through each map individually. I guess it helps if you've researching for a specific letter but if you're trying to catch them all in one go its just inconvenient to go back and forth through the maps. At least Austin had the decency to put the map markers at the start of the video.
Edit: I pinned a comment with the locations if people want to do it that way. I gave this a lot of thought and compared/contrasted to the wisps. For the wisps, you have no way of knowing WHICH ones you got, just the amount left in an area. So you HAVE TO search a full map page. for the Unown, you can log where they all are and if you got them - and it gives you clues. I thought alphabetical would be Easier for the people that wanted to try it on their own. I gave the map at the beginning for like a 'hint' as to where they all were moreso. While I know a lot of people didn't search them out during their playthrough, I think in the long-run this format would be best to serve people.

The ONLY unown you need a feather ball for is unown B at the volcano. I caught every other one using a pokeball :) just thought I'd let you know austin
I actually had to come back to that one that was behind the rock at the twin waterfalls. For whatever reason, no matter how I threw the damn ball (tried different ones), it wouldn't register hitting it. I'm not sure if they fixed it or coming back fixed it but I finally got the perfect angle apparently and caught it. It was a nightmare. Even standing ON the rock right there next to it didn't work haha.
Thanks for the guide! Loved the way the video was set up. I finally figured out how the pastures are filled (100 hours in) and set up the Unown I already caught so it would fill in in alphabetical order. Love it.

according to the Anime, they live there guarded a gold-colored cube, the Spear Key
Hopeful wishes for something in the dlc. But something as minor as this probably won't make the cut. Maybe they hint the dlc at tomorrow's direct?

I like it this way better. I tried to get them all myself and having only 3 or so I couldn't figure out makes going for the specific letter way easier
