If you want Monster Hunter without the slaying I'd HIGHLY recommend Monster Hunter: Stories! It's a monster taming rpg in the same setting, monsters have their own traversal mechanics in the overworld where you can ride them and the turn based combat does an EXCELLENT job of making you feel in sync with your monsters as you fight alongside them, especially when you learn the attack patterns of your enemies. It doesn't have the care mechanics present in Digimon games/vpets, but for a monster tamer without them I've never felt more connected to my monster friends ^_^
I need to get these games on Steam Deck. I have them on Switch, but I play my Steam Deck more, and since they got rid of the emulators (even though I have them and a modded Switch as I own two switches, one isn't modded), it's becoming increasingly annoying to port my own games from my switch to move them over to the Steam Deck.
As both a monster hunter x digimon fan it is like a dream come true. I recently show this to my hunting group of friend and they barely knew anything about Digimon. I got them perorder during the wave 2. I hoping Bandia will let us hunt a digimon in mhw wild.
@@queenpen1398 Hunting digimon seems antithetical to the themes in the franchise overall, but it would be so sick to see digimon models in MH. At best maybe a palico skin to match a rookie would be so cool! Most likely armor or weapon skins would be the case if its happening, but reading discussion on this release it doesnt seem likely. I think maybe with the sprites being modeled for the VB, perhaps this was a deal made before they sunset the VB, and now they have to make good on it so they put it on a brick. Just speculation though, I can still dream ^_^
I love Monster Hunter so I was super excited about this. I love the Rathalos and Zinogre mixes with Greymon and Garurumon. Plus the sprites for Nargacuga, Gore Magala, and Mizutsune look so good! In another world this could've been a BE memory like the Medarots DiM. Rise is definitely a great game and super fun. I need to finish Sunbreak, the DLC. I'd also recommend Generations Ultimate on the Switch, which is a bit slower and more like older MH games, but is a great way to meet a ton of the old monsters throughout the franchise.
Being a fan of Namco X Capcom, it's really cool to see Bandai Namco and Capcom interacting again, I haven't seen them collaborating since Smash Ultimate and Project X Zone.
Got the preorder in for Zinogre. I'm a big Monster Hunter fan and this was a sure sell for me. It's funny you mentioned the shift to wanting to not always beat the monsters cause in Worlds I had the similar feeling and went full "capture no kill" with the hunts. That's also why Kulve Taroth has been my favorite encounter in the series, satisfying the needs for a good fight and having it always let them go free.
i pre ordered the rathalos digivice :D it seems they are using vb sprites, meaning it was planned for vb be but since that died they made it's own brick for the collab , i'm excited to see who all i can raise in it :)
I never warmed up to MH simply because I suck at it but damn do these look good! And the few sprites we know about already look so good! Definitely very excited about them!
Honestly I'd believe if someone say that Bandai do know the popularity of Digimon but choose to do little of it because some higher-up hates it, it's like Capcom to Megaman, a super popular and well loved franchise that somehow the head of them tries to not do anything with it out of spite because otherwise why would it be that way when it can prints money for them by how beloved it is?
it feels like the demand is mostly coming from the monster hunter side of things just based on the drastic difference between this and the normal digimon releases.
I know zero stuff about Monster Hunter, but I'll get one of these devices. They're so nice and I love the idea of collabs, hope for a fully fledged Medabots one with several new monsters besides those that made it to the VB DIM.
Ancient creatures classified as Wyverns, Beasts and Elder Dragons roaming the planet (some, like the Fatalis race, have the potential to destroy the world and absolutely hate humanity) and you, as a survivor of the latest Elder Dragon attack, must keep them under check to ensure these monsters do not disturb the ecosystem Hunt a monster/dragon > carve out their pelts > forge armor and weapons out of their skulls, claws and other assorted materials > rise and repeat That's basically MonHun in a nutshell
I pre ordered both within 10mins of zennin letting pre orders and yes monster hunter stories is so much fun and they added alot of new monsters since the game came out lol
While I'm not the biggest MH fan, I still pre-ordered one, both because I do really like the Monster designs, and also because I'm excited to see what this doing well will mean for the future. The Tamagotchi mini is neat, but there's only so much they can do in terms of interactivity. With this, however, maybe Bandai will look at Digimon the next time they have a shonen/action franchise they're doing a collab for. My fingers are crossed for a Kamen Rider V-Pet release, but there's also the silly part of me that'd love, like, a Hololive Digimon v-pet. Even if they do an original lcd screen release instead of a Color, I'd still be super into it.
I pre-ordered both as soon as I found out about them and preorders started. I'm more of a casual MH player and didn't start playing until Rise on the Switch, because I got it on sale, but I really enjoy the game and have played some older ones on PSP/psvita and 2DS. I think that if bandai put as much effort and creativity into the Digimon v-pets like they did with Tamagotchi they would be even more popular. I know of some people, including myself, who went over to tamagotchi because of digimon and the lack of creativity leaving me wanting more. However, I'm also a big animal crossing fan so anything similar to that in a v-pet will pique my interest. I hope that this shows bandai they can do so much more with digimon. I'd love to see a mix between the 25th color evolution Digivice and the updated, but still traditional, digimon color.
I hope that Bandai interprets this as "Huh. Maybe the upgraded sprites are what people are finding attractive. Let's look into revamping our Digimon sprites for the Digimon X Color." One can dream, right?
They made so much mistakes with the VB that mostly people gave up on it.I am always wondering why they could not get the Tamagotchi wifi arena into digimon, Tamagotchi sells so well due to it being innovative.
First time I'm hearing about this. I was under the impression the MMBN series were a better fit since, ya know, Digital World/Net Navis, but this was a surprise (Although, I won't lie, I was fully expecting a God Eater/Mon Hun crossover instead) So glad to see Namco Bandai and Capcom working together again
Judging by previous releases, no, since they're typically easy to understand if you don't know Japanese anyway. From memory Premium Bandai US get these releases a few months later but they only ship within the US and they're still quite costly and the exact same language version as the Japanese release.
The Digimon fandom still exists despite the property owner doing what they do. That is how popular Digimon is. If it was handled properly it would easily be an A or even triple A brand. Just a remaster of Digimon World 1 would be free money. It was always like that. The first anime looks like it was produced with whatever Bandai CEO at that moment had in his pocket and the power of friendship. And somehow the writers salvaged it. I still sometimes rewatch it.
Im just tired of these releases that sell out so quickly for something that won't be available/shipped until like March! Bandai knows what they're doing. They needed to handle Digimon like pokemon or something
@LostinTranslationmon I get it, it's just sucks to have to put down a chunk of cash and wait so long. Not to mention wither being broke/ putting my money on other bills
I just wish it wasn't a premium bandaid exclusive because that means that likely I may never get one without having to pay out the ass for it to a scalper.
I think the thing is that even with Cyber Sleuth they still didn't believe Habu that Digimon fans have grown up and they need to target adults now, and MH isnt really geared at the little kids they believed were their audience
I just saw someone saying these won't have a library to see what you have had trained already. i kinda hope that's not true it would be cool to go through and see everything
@LostinTranslationmon I think they mean some wave 1 orders haven't been sent yet (like mine) so wave one and two are basically the same for some people
I ordered both in the second wave on Zenin actually. I ordered the 25th Anniversary Digivice there, and apart from the shipping issues which they apologized for, I didn't have any issues there. And Monster Hunter is my favorite video game franchise, and Digimon is one of my fondest childhood memories, and I still love everything digimon including the TCG. So this was an easy sell for me. I dunno how different they'll be, but given how hard getting them might become, I just had to get both.

Yesss i dont know why more people aren't recommending this, its the perfect between game
Soo many people have told me I should jump into Stories after this video...so I'm very tempted!

@@LostinTranslationmon Thanks for letting me know!
Not going to lie im getting a great kick out of how many times this has sold out XD come on team lets make them go a wave 4 🤣

Not VB sprites, just full resolution DMC sprites. Remember that on the other Color devices the sprites are scaled up 3x for rendering.
VB died by Bandai poor handling

Good afternoon
I send you a gretting 👋🏻
Thanks for visiting
I've never played a main Monster Hunter games. I've only played the two stories games which are more traditional monster tamer series

Why not release internationally? Kinda crazy. Please print money, we're begging you.
