I built my spaceship combat off of StarFinder and Open D6. Lots of options on how different characters can contribute to the survival of the ship and crew.
Fair criticism. Obviously you have the creative talent to add to and make use of the technical aspects of GURPS source material. I am in agreement with your comments about the SJG layout and uninspiring art. We have to add our own inspiration and creative ideas and that can be a major challenge for GMing GURPS...or perhaps it can be a major asset? I enjoy DIY, but it does take time, creativity and inspiration. I can look at other sources for help on inspiration, but the working time needed to organize and bring it together and to prepare everything for play is just something we enjoy or don't. Nice video and it is always useful to hear your insights and thoughts on a great, but imperfect game. Cheers!
Yes "generic" art is a perhaps to be expected in a Generic system I guess eh? Lol but I wish I could have it both ways. Still the best game for my tastes. Thanks for watching Fred!
Honestly i feel like you can get better with that space ship char sheet, at least it feels like the hulls section should be in one row, it being kinda scattered around on the paper.
I actually made a premier! So, I have all of these. I really need to give them another read. In my game there is no FTL, and interstellar travel is by travelling through a network of wormholes, an amalgamation of Dune, 40K, DS9, and Buck Rogers. Thanks for the video.
This sounds cool, I have lost tech scattered throughout my setting where warp gates can be found and used but no one knows where they lead... until tested. Thanks for watching as always Bo!
And therein is the problem with a generic system, if they put in their rules art of a specific type then you would lean more towards that and it would be less generic. It's a double-edged sword! Also they put so much content in that it would be hard to make the layout any different. Gurps is in perfect, but they understand that! They never claim to be 100% of what you're looking for. But I love the system, I am a skill-based and a generic system because I don't want to have to learn the rules every time I run a new game! Which is exactly the point of groups and why it was created. Great videos great information and I still love your randoms to heroes stuff!
Those are just printouts of the pdf files. They never published those books and i hate using pdfs so I printed and bound. They do work great, lay flat open and double back when only need to see one page. I recommend!
This really embodies my problem with GURPS. The game is so much fun to play but running it is a slog. You need to micromanage so much stuff to get the game running well and the books don’t give you any guidance at all. GURPS seriously needs better GM support tools.
I can sympathize for sure but I always come back to GURPS because the positives far outweigh the negatives for me. I also always come back after trying to run other games that end up disappointing. Thanks for watching!

I loved Michael Kucharski's art in Palladium Fantasy. Him and Dan Smith would be perfect for GURPS Rifts.
Oh my goodness yes!

LET'S GOOOOO.
I'm preparing my first GURPS campaign set in space and I've been watching your spacerandos playlist for inspiration, so this is great.
Amazing to hear, love to see newcomers! Good luck with the game znd welcometo GURPS!

Yes I agree 100%, thanks for watching!
Where did you get the spiral bound books? Are they as handy as they appear to be?

what do you think of Mailanka's space combat system for Psi-Wars?
Very good question, I never noticed space combat rules on his psi-wars web site but now I must go looking for that. Thank you!
