i've been learning spanish on and off growing up. huge thanks to dora and having spanish speaking friends in elementary school lol. i also took spanish in high school but didn't take it seriously. now i'm studying spanish on my own, so this video is very helpful!
This was my path too. I want to tell you that with focus English speakers with a bit of Spanish language background can definitely reach B2 in a year. I always thought it would take 5+ years but that was because I wasn't focused 😂

I took Spanish last year in school, and I didn't learn anything. Maybe a few words but that's all. Now that I've been taking matters into my own hands and learning on my own, following your routine as well, It's only been 5 days and I can form many sentences and can understand beginner Spanish.

Anna! I am in the exact same position. I would say I am an intermediate level Spanish speaker, I'm moving to Barcelona next month, and I struggle most with speaking. I've only practiced Spanish in an academic setting so I'm also doing a "sprint" to improve my practical Spanish skills! Thank you so much for your language learning videos. I would recommend having at least one local class, it helps the local economy and the classes usually have cultural outings. The outing are sometimes and add-on but some will be part of the price. Though my research has been only in Mexico, so it could just be a Mexico thing but I doubt it...

@@deepali6062 Seeing my recent checkpoint which is 2, I know I won't be able to complete all of the checkpoints until another year. As you can see I'm old and don't have alot of time. Thats why I've started anki too along with duo to complete Spanish asap. What's your checkpoint?
@@nikzzzzzzz I've just cleared only one checkpoint being very honest and you're right even I feel that way, I won't be able to complete all the checkpoints like until next year but it's fine for me since I'd be done w it and won't have to fret about it in the future. Besides like Anna had suggested try to listen to Spanish music and watch Spanish youtubers or maybe follow Spanish people on Instagram. I made a new account just to follow Spanish meme pages and makeup artist and more people like that. For enhancing the speaking skills, I'll wait until I'm able to expand it a little bit more and use hellotalk and more apps like that. And anki par mene ek baar try kra tha flashcards banane ka but koi consistency nahi hai mere paas 😂😂
Lastly, bro dw about being old. I'm also old (I think since I'm in college lolol) and my friends started learning Spanish in their teens and now they're so good at it but it's fine sbka learning process different hota hai yk.

If you want to learn slang and get a taste of the different Spanish accents I recommend "La casa de papel" and "Vis a vis". Tho, take it with a pinch of salt because I'm a native Spanish speaker and so, i don't really know about learning Spanish

Reading, writing and speaking is a pretty good plan. I thought it was most helpful to recognize when you've been studying a little too much. Quality time over quantity is the best advice I can give. Also, I LOVE NotiLoca from Spanish Like a Pro free on TH-cam. So funny :)

Love your advice. I just started to learn Spanish about 3 months ago. I’m definitely beginner understanding a lot more, but would not consider myself even intermediate. How long did it take you to get to where you are now. Still not understanding everything but definitely more. I study Spanish everyday for about 2-3 hrs just listening and trying to get more vocabulary. Anxious to be where understand mostly everything. Just a time estimate would be good.

Oye, este año decidí de aprender español y ha pasado 6 meses más o menos. Y yo quiero decir que sus vídeos me ayudan mucho y yo usaré les definitivamente ahora y en el futuro. Muchos gracias (este es mi primero tiempo escribiendo en español entonces decirme si he decía algo que no es correcto)
Hola! Vas muy bien, pero hay algunas cosas que modificaria. En primero lugar, decir "y yo quiero" y "y yo usaré" no están del todo mal gramaticalmente, pero lo más común es decir "quiero" "y usar o voy a usar" (asi seria como yo lo diria). El yo no es necesario ya que quiero y usaré son verbos exclusivamente para esa persona, por ende se puede quitar.
El "les" en definitivamente no va y se escribe muchas gracias.
Espero haber sido clara y que sigas aprendiendo español que vas bastante bien.
