Already some 40 years ago, when still working in South Africa, the SAPPI ( South African Pulp and Paper Industries) were planting fast growing trees for their use to make paper. even back than it was not allowed to cut down trees from indigenous forests, not that there was that much anyway, for making cheap paper and newsprint. so,planting trees by the paper mills is nothing new. and should be indeed done.
