Beautiful arrangement and performance. What I find strange though, I think this is the second time I've seen this song chosen as a tribute piece to Emerson, but by all accounts - including direct interviews - Keith hated this song.
Still beautiful though, and probably the only ELP piece that's universally recognized across generations.
Greg and Keith would be so Proud and Honored by this moving rendition. It brought me to tears. Thank You Aaron for carrying on the Emerson name. Geoff Downs is Still Brilliant after all these years.👏👏👏👏👏👏😢💔😢❣️
Geoff Downes hasn't stopped performing "after all these years". He played in Asia for years before Wetton's death, has been playing in Yes and also his side project 'Downes Braide Association' which have released 5 albums to date.
Back in 1970, Keith's "Lucky Man" Moog solo was so totally unexpected on hearing the song for the first time, I was very emotional, then, when that first portamento note came in, I was so blown away... I was approx 16 1/2 years of age at the time. Aaron's solo was just as unexpected and again, what an emotional moment watching this tribute. Wonderful job!

Same here. That low note that I heard decades ago resonated as deep now upon hearing and seeing Aaron play Keith's Moog. I'm in tears.

Someone explain to me the reference to Close to the Edge (Yes) in the guitar solo. Incredible!!! what good taste!!! That moment of the solo is a musical date perfectly well spent.
I believe Geoffe Downes who plays intro piano was in Yes for a while and Greg Lake filled in for the Yes bassist.

Well, that's well played and everything is perfect. But I believe this is a song that no cover version can do justice to. Lake's vocals are absolutely essential for this song. And, of course, you don't need eight musicians for such a simple piece of music. Sometimes a great idea is destroyed when too many people are involved, when too much effort is applied.

This is a nice version but kind of ironic that it be a tribute to Keith when, according to the stories, they needed a song to finish their debut album and Greg suggested the song he wrote when he was 12 but Keith didn’t care for it and Greg and Carl did all the arranging and recording and Keith just came back to do a one take recording of the synth solo. Keith was amazing and had a huge catalog of material that I love but I think “Lucky Man” tributes should be left to Greg.

For me, this one only shows the nonsense of covering a wellknown ansd perfect song by uninspired musicians. I am 64, ELP-Fan since 1973. Nothing and no one can match the original. Keith Emerson was the greatest keyboard player of all times, Greg Lake had the most beautiful voice in Rock. anyone who tries to compete with them is bound to lose.

This video is from last year, hosted by Keiths son, Aaron and the cooperarion of Regina, Greg's wife. Contributions can be made at a distance, with all the technology available. Carl Palmer should have been in this tribute.

Fantastic version of such a beautiful song, it brings back memories of times that were good. Back in my hippy days I had a black Morris Minor with a gold ELP motif (Brain Salad Surgery) painted on the bonnet, they ARE my favourite band of all time. The mandolin sounds spectacular.
Great job, So glad you kept dads synth part so close to the original. The band and vocals were awesome, and who can say enough about Downes?
