I've had this gun for 5 months. I upgraded the scope to a Hammers - Air Gun Rifle Scope 3-9x40AO Magnum. Since then my shots have been at a consistent dead center at 25 yards. My backyard is only so big, so that's where I have it sighted. That's using Crosman Premier .22 cal Domed Ultra Magnum 14.3 gr. pellets. I also have heavier grained Gamo pellets that perform just as well at the same distance. Note: I took a robin on the very top branch of a tree at 98.7 yds. (I used my range finder). Thought I missed it until it dropped. I qualified Expert in the army with an M16-A1 with open sights, but that was 33 years ago. My eyesight isn't nearly as good as it once was (I wear glasses now). This gun is just that good. It has a LOT of power for a break barrel, and doesn't break the bank. It does take about 200 shots for the 60 lb pull to settle down. At first I didn't think I'd be able to cock it. Once it breaks in, it's awesome.
One of the greatest advantages of mil dots is the ability to accurately hold left, right, up or down. This was especially advantageous in Iraq when I was using the M24 or M107 over long ranges. If you want to go through the testing, you can use your mil dots as a customized BDC.
I know what else I'd like to see in a review, I'd like to see the FPS at 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards. FPE at 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards with light AND heavy pellets. Best pellet weight for max FPE on the particular gun being reviewed
I Love airguns. I'm a huge fan of the sport, a much safer, cheaper, and cost effective way of shooting fun. And this day and age you can get airguns that are insanely advanced at a reasonable price with ammo that's easy to get your hands on

Hey Rick, thanks for the video. I have experienced the opposite regarding elevation. My experience is more drag at lower elevation due to air density. I sighted my rifle at 20' above sea level and when I went up to Mount Pocono over 1,900' above sea level, my point of impact was higher then my point of aim.
When it comes to the .177 magnum, i always choose it with heavy pellets over my say wildcat .22 or shockwave .22 for hunting. Id def use my wildcat .22 before my f4 .177 for hunting, but i really think gamo has the band color wrong for the .177 magnum. That thing is a true hunter and i would have no qualms at all about shooting a 100-200lb pig between the eyes with head down with my .177 mag. Hell my .177 mag puts pellets through stuff that neither of my .22 air rifles will get even half way through.
At elevation the air is thinner. This will create less drag on the projectile, allow it to maintain velocity and drop less in the same distance. I am not sure what explains the effect you were referring to but you have it exactly backwards.
Super later reply but the issue is the power plant in the rifle, it needs air and since the air is thinner at elevation when you cock the rifle the chamber doesnt get completely filled with air so it's fps suffers and the piston also slams harder because theres not enough air to cushion its release, this does not happen with spring rifles though.
Keep in mind that as you increase in elevation, the speed of sound actually starts DECREASING. From sea level it drops from 761 fps to 742 due to the difference in density of the air (and presumably) drop in temperature.
Mi opinion es que esta marca tendria que dejar mejor terminados sus cañones, centrar el taladrado de ellos en su corona es fundamental y entonces la precision mejoraria. I just got the .177. After watching this I thought I could shoot these same pellets without breaking the sound barrier. I learned really quick that this pellet rifle is LOUD! Anyone have .177 pellets that will get me just below the sound barrier so I don't scare my neighbors?
Hey Rick I bought a air Venturi avenger 25 caliber about 2 years ago it's never held sir not one day 7:01 I tried pumping up till I blew in the face it won't pump up do you know anybody can fix it
The JSB exact heavy .177 10.34 gr. Diabolos are very accurate in my Crossman vantage air rifle and penetration is impressive as well. A full can of beans could not stop it.
I got the f 4 BB pellet gun what kind of pellet u uses in 1.77 an the rugur BB pellet gun 1.77 an the 1866 BB an pellet gun what kind of pellets do u thank I should uses in Mine
Holy cow, you are shooting a pellet that is "one and three quarter inches", (spelling out what you typed), in diameter? You mean .177" (one hundred and seventy seven thousandths of an inch). Yep, a .25 caliber pellet is one quarter inch. Sue your school.
I think I understanding why in thinner air causes pellets to slow down at higher altitudes. You would think the higher elevation's lower air density would allow the pellet to travel farther (Because of less resistance). However, what I assume happens is the break barrel's air chamber compresses less air, creating less force.
I have the same rifle in .177 and its performing much better than .22 at long range hunting. 25meters is a joke for this gun. Maybe elevation was the problem in your case but still, that distance is nothing for Gamo Magnum.
Pssst. When you see 20-30 yard accuracy tests on YT, it is usually because they are not very good shots. I will watch them do a .75" group at 20 yards and say, "Now that is pretty good!". :) But in all fairness, they are just testing the guns then probably sending them back to the manufacture, and not putting thousands of rounds through them. If "break in" is a real thing, (and I kind of doubt it is with most guns. They are just shooting it better or did not clean the barrel), they probably don't shoot them enough to break them in. I just ordered the .22 swarm magnum gen2 gun today, and I plan on shooting to 100 yards and consistently hitting 1.5" targets. I am excited. :) Doug in Michigan
I told everyone your using the pellet pen wrong. Glue it to the side, right between the gas piston and stock. It's like having a external magazine, you can pic up the gun and not have to look for pellets. Crack the barrel hold the stock with your off hand and push a pellet out with the trigger hand. Then shoot no fumbling around .
The Magnum is awesome. But you definitely want to slow it down. 1650 fps would be too fast and the accuracy would be bad. We use heavier pellets that do aboit 900fps and that makes for great accuracy. Cheers mate.
I had a redfire tin and a couple of them didnt even have the plastic red part in it and they just went backwards and crap. Maybe had a bad batch but they arent that great for me

Great review Rick. How's the trigger when compared to the quattro trigger. I really like the look of this new gamo rifle but still wanting and saving up for a Hatsan 125 sniper in .22.
Hi, just wanted to let you know . I got my Gamo Magnum 22 caliber. Instead of the gamo hundred extreme. It save me a fortune . Because this gun actually gets more feet per second and foot pounds of energy than advertised. I haven't tried the super light alloy pellets because I don't want to hurt my gun but I did try the 14.3 crossmen premiers and I clocked in at 1056 ft./s. That's over 36 foot pounds of energy.I did it on a video on TH-cam with the chronic test to prove it. I was averaging about 952 ft./s but still 28 foot pounds of energy. Amazing for this gas ram Airgun . Anyway love the videos .keep up the good work. I'm always searching for your videos what I'm looking for a new air gun. By the way this is by far the hardest gun I've ever cocked and I've used to own the Gamo socom extream .

I find it funny how people claim a .177 isnt for hunting. I took a groundhog at 25yds without a problem with a Whisper Maxxim just the other day. Dropped him like a sack of potatoes.
Nice I just got the swarm maxxim and these ground hogs have been tearing up my yard bad this year. Still have never seen one above ground yet but when I do I’ll be ready! Lol.
Добрый день. Подскажите какой оптический прицел поставить на gamo j magnum 1250. Россия. Смогу ли я через ыас купит хороший прицел,чтоб китайскую подделку не взять у нас в России!
Are you gonna review Gamo Magnum's counterpart the Diana 350 N-tec Premium and Luxus edition in the future? I'm really interested to see how well those guns perform and how far in a good way are they from their predecessor the Diana 350 Magnum.
Can someone please explain it to me about this green and red bands? I have just bought gamo swarm magnum gen 2 and on the website which l bought it the gun it was stated 45 jules of power on my gun l have red band so is this meant that l have less power magnum gun?
Mike Benoit lol then why did you ask? If you are looking for a new airgun, I would strongly recommend the game varmint .177. it's 80 bucks on Amazon and it is just incredible. Just make sure to learn the ARTILLERY hold.
I just bought a Gamo swarm fusion 10x gen II in .177 because when it comes to the Gamo magnums it seems that every video show how you buy one "for" its power and the next shows why to switched to another Gamo airrifle "because" of its power ...to much of it!
what should i go for! a" Gamo bone collector hunter'22"or"Gamo magnum'22" for accuracy and long range ? witch one would be best cant make up my mind they both look like great rifles!
My preference in a Gamo would be the Fusion Whisper Mach 1 .22. It's basically a replacement for the pigman from a couple of years back.. Sits between the hunter and the magnum. Good balance of features and power and is lightweight. Cheers AGW
I got 1056 F.p.s. with the Beaman Kodiak 22.cla and the gamo magnum shot over 1000 f.p.s. 1 time the rest was 850 to 950 f.p.s. would you guys do a review on the Beeman Kodiak I cannot find it if you have?
Okay men, I have questions, I looking to get a new rifle for squirrels and rabbits and mybe turkey young hogs, but which one the Gamo Magnum 22 or the pcp Gamo Urban 22 help me pick. Please.
I used a Hawke Airmax EV. I would suggest the Airmax AMX these days for an affordable scope option. Really like the etched glass AMX reticle. Cheers AGW

hello Rick & good people .. which one is better & best & quality & the king !! gamo magnum .22 or "RWS" Diana 350 magnum .22 ?? before 2 year after i ask you said to me strongest spring and best is diana 350 and i want .177 but u said better to go with .22 and now i have Diana 350 Magnum .22 its best strongest air rifle i test .. but now some people talking about this Gamo Magnum so do you think its really better than diana 350 in quality and power and otherthings that i need to change my 350 or the New Diana N-TEC 350 magnum is better than those 2 .. and wich one is better normal pellets 15.4gr or pba bullets 14.4gr ?? most of the people they said the pba is bad because very light wight .. but what if its a bit heavy like 14.4gr not less than 10gr is still bad or not recommended?? From Middle east OMAN - thanks a lot for helps God bless you..
I own a gamo whisper The one problem I have with the gamo"s is the BACK sight. the dial....it has NO numbers on it how is anyone suppose to keep track of the different settings? REALLY numbers mean things
I dig these guys, but I sight my springers in at 35 yards, and shoot game to 70 with the cheap little .177 I have now, so a 20-30 yard test will not tell me how accurate the gun is, or how good the pellets are. Unless you are darn near stacking pellets at 26 yards here, the accuracy tests do not mean a thing to me.
Have you ever noticed we never see a vid grouping the center of the target, but only groups where ever they may lie? After many months shooting my .30 cal., I think I know why; Because the scope/mounts are not doing their job well. It was very rare, with all the time I have shooting the gun to have the scope repeat day after day, or even hour after hour. Get it on center, and the next time you shoot it, it is off. Now that I have those factors under control, (and my shooting technique), I am getting better groups than that---at 75 yards. I don't think many reviewers actually put in enough time for a mag springer, (they don't have the time I do for a single gun), to figure out how to get it good enough to have high confidence in it. @ a mere 26 yards, those groups are only mediocre in reality. Rick always says, "facts, no fluff!". But when I see a poor test, (and not sure why, because they don't put in the time needed), all I hear is fluff. I know a reviewer does not want to make a manufacture angry by giving them a poor review,(and they could be mad at the reviewer for a published test with "flaws", that caused the bad review), but what justice does that accomplish for anybody? For example, With the Hatsan .30 cal. springer, I have seen a individual like me shoot 75 yards at a 2" target and hit it, and I can do it 4 shots out of 5 myself now. But I have never seen one of these sponsored reviewers tell me the gun is capable of that, (no more than 30 yards they all say, I zero mine at 32!, fixes that "drop problem" at 50 yards nicly), because they don't put in the time. That costs gun sales folks. Were the Hatsan tests good for sales? Is this test good for sales? The reviewers are loaded with guns to review. Will each gun get a fair shake, and a shake up if they are actually bad guns? Or is there opportunity for more reviewers, so difficult but capable guns could get at least 1000 pellets through, with a proven scope, (make that standard if there is only one, looks to be the Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x33 EFR), to give the best chance for a fair and honest review (sometimes honesty is brutal, but it always makes better products next year,--to be praised). I know this for a fact, not one sponsored reviewer gave my Hatsan a fair shake in it's true capabilities, or a fairly big flaw or two. Watch the reviews. None of will tell you the open sights are pretty bad and cheap. But than again, may be they get their guns from Hatsan to test that is inspected perfectly, because the 2 guns I had, the front sight was rotated to the left around the muzzle. I just took the junk off, and finally have a scope that is hitting zero after zero day after day,--but it's a pain to get there. (UTG).
9:28 they start shooting.
You do gods work, thank you
Wow thank you so much so annoying trying to find the real review

I've had this gun for 5 months. I upgraded the scope to a Hammers - Air Gun Rifle Scope 3-9x40AO Magnum. Since then my shots have been at a consistent dead center at 25 yards. My backyard is only so big, so that's where I have it sighted. That's using Crosman Premier .22 cal Domed Ultra Magnum 14.3 gr. pellets. I also have heavier grained Gamo pellets that perform just as well at the same distance. Note: I took a robin on the very top branch of a tree at 98.7 yds. (I used my range finder). Would it be possible to shoot the H & N pile driver successfully from the .177 version of this rifle?
Is this gun better than diana 54 air king, hatsan 125 and 135?
I know that this is off the mark I have the gamo swarm fox. 177 what do you think of it on accuracy and power
Red band = .177 cal.
Can you take the green band in your backyard or basement as well as hunting
Mike Benoit as long as you have a backstop that won't ricochet
Matt Awgul I know that I have always put safety first when shooting
Mike Benoit lol then why did you ask?
If you are looking for a new airgun, I would strongly recommend the game varmint .177. it's 80 bucks on Amazon and it is just incredible. Just make sure to learn the ARTILLERY hold.
I just bought a Gamo swarm fusion 10x gen II in .177 because when it comes to the Gamo magnums it seems that every video show how you buy one "for" its power and the next shows why to switched to another Gamo airrifle "because" of its power ...to much of it!
And how's it? You like it?
Wery god rifle, new to day in 177. Good precision with JSP Exact 10,34 GR 4,52 mm.
Hello, what is the sender of bullets in the form of a tube?
Barrel
what should i go for!
a" Gamo bone collector hunter'22"or"Gamo magnum'22" for accuracy and long range ? witch one would be best cant make up my mind they both look like great rifles!
My preference in a Gamo would be the Fusion Whisper Mach 1 .22. It's basically a replacement for the pigman from a couple of years back.. Sits between the hunter and the magnum. Good balance of features and power and is lightweight.

Okay men, I have questions, I looking to get a new rifle for squirrels and rabbits and mybe turkey young hogs, but which one the Gamo Magnum 22 or the pcp Gamo Urban 22 help me pick. Please.
What pellet is the best 22 pellet to use a Benjamin Impact
hi Rick. what scope did mount on the .22 calibre? I hv the same rifle in a springer. thnk u.
I used a Hawke Airmax EV. I would suggest the Airmax AMX these days for an affordable scope option. Really like the etched glass AMX reticle.

The .177 should be green for hunting its only 2fpe difference in the pellets they are using. The .177 will take same game as .22

Can anybody tell me what’s the size of the transfer port on this gamo magnum 1250 gti
Hello guys I live we on long Island its a low sea level what kind of power and how accurate and what pellets would be the best
P.S. Do you ever shoot Clay's at a 100 yards...?
Poor Aaron, big boy did all the talk and didn't let him share all the information on the rifle he was using. Kind of reminds me of an old co-worker I used to work with.
I have the magnum swarm .22 is it the same power as the magnum single shot?
I understand from a reliable source, (The airgun detective on YT), that they are. I just ordered the mag swarm gen2 .22 today.
Thanks again for responding back thanks

Which pellet is best for shooting a pig in the brain at 25yrds?
hello Rick & good people ..
which one is better & best & quality & the king !!
gamo magnum .22 or "RWS" Diana 350 magnum .22 ??
before 2 year after i ask you said to me strongest spring and best is diana 350
and i want .177 but u said better to go with .22 and now i have Diana 350 Magnum .22
its best strongest air rifle i test .. but now some people talking about this Gamo Magnum
so do you think its really better than diana 350 in quality and power and otherthings that i need to change my 350
or the New Diana N-TEC 350 magnum is better than those 2 ..
and wich one is better normal pellets 15.4gr or pba bullets 14.4gr ??
most of the people they said the pba is bad because very light wight ..
but what if its a bit heavy like 14.4gr not less than 10gr is still bad or not recommended??
From Middle east OMAN - thanks a lot for helps
God bless you..

Oman Rap diana 350 sin lugar a dudas
(UTG).
