From childhood I loved art. I was always drawing or making something from various materials. Then came adulthood and I got sucked into survival mode. Every so often I would dive into a creative mini project and would feel great satisfaction. But then it was back to surviving the Matrix. Now I’m pushing 50 and I’ve joined classes at local art/cultural centers. I lucked out with a very skilled and knowledgeable teacher. She is passionate about everything art! From the masters to how paints are made. She has an extensive library and inspires me to create! It’s not too late for me and I’m not giving up! I will spend the rest of my life doing this because I’ve already missed out on too many years. It’s never too late. NEVER GIVE UP! Wonderfully inspiring video! Thank you so much.
I love your quiet chaos. I am ingriguedby your style, not to mention the information and advice you provide is golden. Great job providing value and standing out.
I enjoy hearing your solid advice. I got around to viewing your work on Saatchi. Such hauntingly beautiful, organic forms. It is a really novel approach to use electricity to create patterns, are you using a Lichtenberg machine? I think that was inspired, but I was wondering why you didn't take the artistic process further and experiment with some form of paragnosis, that Da'Vinci wrote about.
@@driesketels You need to check out the old English artist Alexander Cozens, he got hold of a treatise of Leonardo. He passed down art techniques to his student Varley, who taught William Blake.
Good to be positively brave but virality, fame, fortune is never guaranteed. The world owes you nothing etc.. There's never a reason to give up if you're doing it for yourself. We never lack the energy to try - we just decide not to...
Jfc…lately it feels like all your videos lately feels like your speaking directly to me and constantly calling out my negative ruminations that keep me from finally creating my art.
hahahah I have 0 likes because Instagram just cancelled me erased all my IG profiles and as of now will never be able to enter the platform anymore so... 5 likes is better than 0 you got this
I had to rewind this video 3 times to understand who the introduction was refering to. Your pronounciation is unclear sometimes. It is difficult to understand what Dries is telling us because there are so many different subjects he mentions. It seems like a narcissus rant, does he want to instruct those who want to be commercially successful? There are many predatory instructors on the web, purporting to know how to tutor you in marketing, It's bullshit. Just do what you think is right and integral, with luck you will succeed. This guy fools people by his apparent knowledge and convincing spiel.
btw your course is great thank you
Hi Dries, good to see another video of yours.

What's special about this treatise that I can't find in the ones I can buy online?
@@driesketels I believe Bill Gates and the billionaire art collector Robert Grant have the only two known copies.
