Another really helpful thing in your fight is that youre using the green divine beast which restores your and im pretty sure your companions HP's without spending the healing vials

The first martial attack on Sun Jian's Guding Blade, thunderous impact, along with the toxic divine beast made this fight so much easier than my first attempt. Parry a critical, then hit the martial attack a time or two before deflecting anything that comes at me until the next critical.
Also helps that I infused a simple restore hp jewel on the Blade so hey, use those systems guys! So useful.
Watching your videos helps me learn the attack patterns and timing so much easier than getting smacked on and frustrated. I've only had to repeat this boss and the teleporting monk so far. All others have been first attempt clears.

I just finished the 1st play through and this was definitely one of the more difficult bosses. Another tip if you can, complete all the sub quests up till that point to help farm gear and levels.

I consider three attempts to be a good day. :p Took me three or four tries and beat it, while it took many more attempts on the first boss. My deflects are still off, so looking forward to more pain.
And, yeah, the companions are paper thin in this boss fight.

The way I beat Aoye was I stood at a distance and forced him to do his critical every couple seconds

This game is dead the only reason id keep going is to eventualy pvp but no one plays so for that reason im out.
