I'm kind of new to fighting games like I played a little bit of mortal Kombat 11 and I play for honor a lot (but I don't like that really counts as a fighting game) And I was thinking about getting tekken 8 but it seems really difficult to get into should I spend the money on it or not
I think Tekken is a difficult but rewarding game. It’s really different from Mortal Kombat so you might struggle at first but that’s an expected part of the learning process. I think this might be the most fun and most accessible that Tekken has ever been. I think it’s worth trying out because most people seem to be having a great time. You just have to not get too discouraged if you struggle a bit at first.
I was kind of the same as you, all I really played was a few fighting games here and there but never got into it seriously or was really good at anything as hard as Tekken. I'm red rank now and all it takes is practice and everything else is muscle memory for the most part when it comes to your own combos and stuff, I highly recommend it though as I think this is the most fun I've had in a fighting game and to just not give up, you'll impress yourself and try not to worry about ranks all that much, just have fun.
I haven't played Tekken since '98 and this is honestly the most fun I've had playing fighting games ever, and I am not good. But there's a lot of great people to learn from, a dope starting roster, and you can improve a lot if you have the time. Honestly, I'd suggest watching the videos Lotus did with Afro Senju (AfroSenju XL) -- the gems Lotus drops in those collab videos are what have allowed me to get started learning characters and get through the early ranks.
4:36 was a good combo without the character charge up but the lag is mainly from your opponents WiFi dropping and not your WiFi dropping. I notice their are tekken players who lag switch for a win which is crazy 😂
happened to me yesterday, i swear i broke jin's annoying spin slam but the bloody lag must run in the kazama family lol btw, good video, i'm a hwo trying to get into red at the moment
I just made it to Tenryu with my main Jun just got Reina & Devil Jin to Shinryu yesterday Reina & Devil Jin are under Jun's rank Tenryu my Jun is almost at mighty ruler close to getting out of the red ranks

Escaping red ranks requires just being patient, knowing your character and capitalizing on your opponents mistakes. TEKKEN is a hard game so don't be discouraged when losing just play and learn in the meantime. But seriously all the rage quitters need to kick rocks.

I actually have my settings set to fight any rank I figure fighting people four or five ranks above me will help me learn more anyways. And I've only made it out of Gyru once for about 3 matches. Got matched up with a raijin might as well have been playing with an O G Atari controller.
You should pick up a new character and grind you’re way threw Ranked again! I’m sure I speak for mostly everybody when I say I’d love to see the Ranked sessions continue.. maybe pick up a character that never gets picked / main’d 👍🏻

I’ll never get there let alone escape. Can’t beat anybody above me and am very capable of losing to those below me.

It’s literally just a ki charge. It’s used to flex but I think when you do it the next hit anyone does is automatically a Counter Hit.
