      Hi,
      Thanks very much for your compliment 😊 🙏
      So and very are adverbs used to emphasize adjectives, adverbs, or phrases. Of these, SO carries emotions, whereas very is plain and quite professional.
      Examples:
      He is very good.
      He is so good.
      Being a TH-camr, I have always wished to display professionalism, and that's why I always use thanks very much. You may ask why THANKS VERY MUCH, and why not THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
      Thank you is a formal term, whereas thanks is a friendly term.
      Thanks very much is a mix of professionalism and friendliness.
      It ain't a set phrase, but 100% standard.

      Had been = past.

    Teacher I need your help. Sometimes I'm confused between past perfect and past simple. Kindly explain the below question.
    1.They-----------( lived,had lived/was lived/have been living /have lived) in this house years ago before their father retired.
    My answer is have lived because we have to show which action happened first. but it's wrong. Could you please explain man. Thank you

    • @englishwithteacheraparna
      @englishwithteacheraparna  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      "They lived in this house a few years ago."
      This is simple past tense, indicating that they lived in the house at a specific point in the past.
      "They had lived in this house a few years before their father retired from his work."
      This is past perfect tense indicating that their living in the house occurred before another past event (their father's retirement).
      "They had been living in this house for a few years before their father retired from his work."
      This is past perfect continuous tense with duration, indicating that their living in the house continued over a period of time before another past event (their father's retirement)

    The shop has been closed and files have been assigned....is this different from what you said mam

    • @englishwithteacheraparna
      @englishwithteacheraparna  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi,
      The shop has been closed (by......)
      This is a passive voice sentence - present perfect tense.
      Its active form = He has closed the shop.
      Sentence two: Files have been assigned.
      This sentence is incorrect.
      Why?
      The verb assign doesn't go with the verb file.
      Maybe you could say...
      I have been assigned the task of looking at the files.
      It's active form = "My superior has assigned me the task of looking at the files."

    • @englishwithteacheraparna
      @englishwithteacheraparna  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Almost correct.
      You can use the past simple tense instead of the past perfect tense when the sequence of events is clear or when there's no need to emphasize the order of events.
      Examples:
      I had worked there for almost a decade, but I wasn't promoted even once.
      He arrived before the start of the meeting.

      If we break this sentence, it would be...

      As you said, please apply ME, and just check.
      Would it be right to say the following???

      The pronunciation of English words varies (even among native speakers) due to factors like regional accents, dialects, historical influences, and, most importantly, INDIVIDUAL SPEECH PATTERNS. These variations can result in differences in vowel sounds, consonant pronunciation, stress patterns, and intonation.

      It's really simple...
      Whereas talks about contrast.
      But talks about contradictions.
      Examples for whereas:
      My brother is a doctor, whereas my sister is a lawyer.
      My mom is a vegetarian, whereas my dad has non-veg dishes.
      My husband likes cricket, whereas I like football.
      Examples for but:
      I am physically ill, but I want to go to my office.
      She is a doctor, but she does practice medicine.
      They are trained cricketers, but they often fail to win matches.
