I don't blame the actors most of the time, I'm putting most of the blame on Netflix for not taking the live action adaptation of a n awesome anime seriously.
The Netflix adaptation wasn’t by any means perfect, but I enjoyed it. There were examples that couldn’t be ignored, like Gren fully accepting his being a hermaphrodite. Or Pierrot Le Fou’s first fight with Spike Spiegel. That fight cannot be replicated in live action. Jet, being a divorced man with a young daughter added some meat to Jet’s character. Mustapha Shakir really owned Jet Black by capturing his mannerisms and his presence. Spike Spiegel, played by John Cho, was impressive, as a man who pretty much was a puzzle. Is he a good guy? Or is he a bad guy who wants to be good. Is he suicidal or does he use graveyard humor to amuse himself? Faye Valentine, played by Danielle Pineda, was as close to the character as she could possibly get. Despite the wardrobe change, she showed that she is a very capable and brave woman. The music of Yoko Kanno is also a major part of Cowboy Bebop. I am sad that the show was cancelled because I would love to Julia play with a captive Vicious. I would love to see how Ed would reunite Jet, Spike and Faye. I would love to see Spike fight with Vincent Volaju and his deadly imaginary butterflies. If Netflix does this again, it must choose the stories carefully and write them with emphasis to focusing on the characters and not assuming that alterations can improve the existing story. These Hood Cowboy Bebop videos are well done and very well detailed in wardrobe.

The beginning was a bit sloppy at times but after the intro this is pretty amazing and actually better than the Netflix adaption imho. Catches the spirit of the original pretty well and gives it its own twist. Kudos!
