I guess they don’t roost where they lay? I mean there’s the little porch right out front they could roost on. Ours didn’t either, they wanted to be a few feet away. Eventually you’ll catch one brooding on several eggs. Our laying box is about 4’ wide and one hen gathers all the eggs and sits on them. Loves to give kisses when you shoo her off. Just kidding, they aren’t kisses, down right ornery little pecker she is.
@@farmershane A week later is very believable. A laying hen has several days worth of eggs inside a laying hen at any given time. After watching your video, I'm considering adding more roosting areas.

They aren't going to start laying after just 1 night of change!
One laid after one night. We’re getting a few dozen a day about a week later.
